Westisde program with BB style bench... any help

Im considering switching to a BB style bench, as i seem to be stronger with that style. Can anyone reccomend some good
Max effort exercises
As well as some good accessory and assitance movements to put in on bench day? Now that ill be benching more BB style, where should i put the emphesis and how should i do this?
 
If you are weak the powerlifting style....why not train to get stronger at it?

thats what its all about, progressing and getting stronger. finding weak points and destroying them

It is rare to see anyone bench over 500lbs with a "bodybuilder" style bench press
 
exactly how is a body building style benchpress? im sure ive seen it alot... but still confused... i wonder what my style is...:confused:
 
power= elbows closer to the body using more triceps,
BB=arms at a right angle to body (many say you are asking for rotator injurys due to this position)

also grips are different....but they will vary with shirts/no shirts and stronger muscle groups (those with stronger pecs usually bench with a wider grip)
 
why not just add some......

extra wides sets of 5-6reps
ME paused full bench
paused db presses

those will bring up the pecs:p

Pl style sure is easier in the rotators.
 
hmm sounds interesting... i might switch to a wider grip PL style. cause my pecs arent getting much stronger like this.

What do you mean by "paused"

Any suggestions for some assitance, and accessory exercises to use when my pecs are more emphesized in my bench?
 
pause - the bar/db's on at/your chest for 1-2seconds.

extra wides/db presses with elbows out would be assistance for pecs.

do a regular bench (comp. paused) for ME. the pause will let you hit the pecs if you bench raw.

Your shoulders will be so messed up, if the ME work doesn't kill you then the DE work will tear those suckers to pieces.
