MRI at 11:00 am tomorrow.....wants to see how much of my ACL I have left as opposed to labelling it as a "Grade 3 tear."

Got a scrip for some pain meds - 1 I never heard of (for day) and some Percosets...

Was told NOT to prop my leg up under my knee with a pillow....need to work on being able to straighten it....

They took some more Xrays....

Need to schedule some PT, ACL screening & brace fitting at the Univ. of DE....goal is to obtain full extension prior to surgery....

Surgery most likely at end of Feb or the beginning of March....and the recovery is a 6 month process - so looking for sure NO shows this year.... :(

Wow, 6 months ontop of the time waiting to have surgery? That will majorily suck Jen.

You've convinced me thru example to be more cautious though, so feel good in that aspect. I will no longer try to knock over skiers as I wisk by on my board.

Can't we all just get along??

lookin at surgery and not even sure you need it? Well, best of luck for a quick recovery. You will be back on the leg machines in about a month after so not all bad. PT is extention and bending.

Sounds like you have a good Group of Dr's and a good plan..
Good luck

PS
Did the Doctor agree with me and say you were way too old to be skiing like a kid?

You seriously need to hush up.....

And no he didn't.....but he did suggest NO skiing for the rest of the season as I wouldn't be happy with how I'd have to ski to avoid further injury....

Sorry to hear about your injury. I worked with a guy who had the knee surgery after a ski injury then got a pulmonary embolus from being laid up in bed after the surgery

My ex-husband had exactly the same thing happen to him!

Took him to the ER doubled over in agony, they diagnosed muscle spasm and sent him home ....

What a mess ...

I don't know what else to say, dear. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. At least if you get surgery your feet will point in the same direction when you walk (and I'm not making a bad joke, my ex's feet point naturally at a 45 degree angle, he never was recommended surgery, his leg didn't work 100% after his injury).

My girlfriend tore her an ACL and had the surgery... it is good as new. The thing I find messed up was that she requested an epidural so that she could watch the surgery being done. Her parents are both doctors, so I understand her curiosity, but that is messed up.... :worried:

Shut up you freaking knuckledragger.....oh and why don't you get off your ass in the middle of the slope & actually ride that thing??

Percocet's are great when you crush them with a spoon and place the powder into a smoking bowl.

You will feel no pain for 24 hours straight.

What, like a pot smoking bowl?

LOL @ a skier actually thinking they can keep up with (much less catch) even a half decent snowboarder... I skiied before I started snowboarding, and snowboards are sooooo much faster!!

:)

The dosing of percocet is generally every six hours for pain, smoking will not increase it's effects by 18 hours if smoking it is possible.
Plus it contains tylenol, you'd probably have to cold water extract it making this far-fetched claim. People I believe smoke oxycontin which is the same as percocet without the tylenol but then again you dont have half a gram per percocet tablet to load into a smoking bowl.
This whole proposal doesnt make any sense

^ Too much effort..
