Well, I'm going to start taking some classes again this spring.

Yeah, the time has come. I can't put it off any longer. Gotta get back in school and prove to myself that I still have a functioning brain up in there. It used to be a source of pride for me, actually. I dropped out in October '00 and haven't been back since. I don't think I'm going to take more than 2 or 3 classes the first semester. Still gotta figure out my major. I'm thinking of education, actually. Something like teaching high school. The pay sucks, but I think it would be OK. And hey- summers off. We shall see.

Can you fit a full college schedule into a 52 hour workweek?
Have you thought about correspondence courses (you can check the university) or online colleges? it might be easier on your schedule.

Are you going in for a bachelors in education? You'll be in for years, because the programs they put you in aren't flexible. It sucks. Its taking me 3 years to get an associates degree, even though i can do 50 hours a year.

Right now i'm going for an associates in a health care degree. Dental hygiene or nursing. The pay is pretty good, and the schedule is flexible.

That's good to hear. Even though if it's only few classes, it's a step closer to graduation. Just take basic classes and see where your interests lie. Sure, having a degree is nice but I like education. With it, knowledge is for life.

Good luck to you Cas. Always good to hear people having a go. As the other guys said, knowledge is everything. Teaching can be rewarding and can also open many doors outside of teaching. I know plenty that have gone on to different things after teaching.

Not only that Cas, but it's a great qualification to have if you want to travel. Wherever you go, be it Europe or Asia or even downunder, teaching jobs are easy to come by.

Get it done Bro. You are too smart to waste the opportunities in front of you. I'd hate to see you end up like me. I waited too long to make a move, then had a child, I planned on finishing college, but once my daughter came along that plan had to be put on hold. Even when and if I do go back, I still don't know what the hell I want to do.
