Well I screwed up

I was on my final set of front squats and I am still not fully used to the change in the center of gravity going to the front of my shoulders. Well it turned out it was a bit to much for my middle back. I want to say its the Erector Spinae but its too far out to be that. Possibly the Lattimus Dorsi but I'm unsure of how I injured that. Home from work but its already feeling better.

I called my brother over to help me finish the 5th set and while on the 4th rep I went down and about 3/4 of the way up I had to yell for him to push the weight forward so it would land in the rack. Now its not bothing if I stand but only if I am to bend with it. Its a little more sore on the right but btoh are covering equal area's of the back.

My question is has anyone else ever had a feeling like this? (I was wearing a belt btw)

I never have, but if you're feeling better, thats an excellent sign. alternate heat and ice for the day.
why are you doing front squats? do you have a shoulder problem?

Sorry I don't understand what you mean by shoulder problems.

what's the reason you aren't doing regular squats?
is it because you injured you're shoulder and can't grip the bar in the normal fashion?
i don't know how else to word this.

No particular reason. Heard from my brother ,who used to do powerlifting in highschool till drugs screwed him up, to try front squats for a few weeks then go back to back squats. Striking for what he said, what are better overall? Strange thing is I started doing them in the gym about 3 weeks ago and now I see about 1/4 of the people doing it. Before I saw maybe 1.

Yep, but just to be safe and make sure I don't injure it again I'm going to rest it till monday. Give my body a rest as well.

Front squats are a great assist for reg squats..Ive actually felt less back stress doing heavy fronts compared to reg squats..how much you doing on the fronts?

beast is right front squats will help for narrow stance squatters, if you squat wide, you should not do front squats. You can do zerchers squats to help you dead, but other that that leave the bar on you back when squatting.

The one that I felt too much pressure on my back was at 225. My legs where fine, they weren't being worked hard enough in my opinion but I wanted to take it easy on the weight till I got used to the weight being in the front.

Keep at it..i was bouncing a little with 315 and the bar kind of jumped on my collar bone left a nice black and blue lol..im wondering how your form is because i switched to fronts to give my back a little rest due to heavy deads and GM's..ive been doing them for about a 7 weeks 5x5 style and havent done reg squats yet..i told myself im not squatting until i can hit a 405 front for at least 5 reps..stretch proeprly and if need be take some time off until your healed then get back in the game!!!

Going to be quite some time before I can handle 400+ on front. I'm not even there on backs yet.
no worries youll get there with patience and consistency..the first couple weeks they seemed to be a little awkward but youll quickly find your groove..hows the healing going?
