I went to daycare to check in on the munchkin, and they had transferred him into an intermediary room between the infant room and the one year old room. When I walked in one worker had 5 children in there. She had four of these kids just sitting on these two tiny little cots and was holding one baby. All 5 were crying hysterically, including mine. Mind you, these babies are all of crawling age. The fact that they were all on the little cots had to be FORCED. The door was shut when I got there too, which is a no no. Baby gates are in the doors but the doors should be open. No toys were out to be played with. They were just all forced on little cots like baby POW's! :redhot:

So, I pick up my sobbing baby and ask, "what is going on in here? are you trying to get them all to sleep at once?" There is only room on a cot for one baby to lay down. That is how little they are. I asked where my baby's bottle was. I saw one of his bottles just lying around, but she said she thought that was Madison's bottle. Stupid bitch. My baby was HUNGRY.

Then, I'm trying to console my baby, and she grabs her own baby by the head and shakes it (jokingly but still too hard for a 10 month old) and says, "why won't you take a nap?" FUCK!

You want to see a woman lose her shit, you should have just seen me. I took my kid up to the front and demanded to speak to the owner. I told her that my baby will NOT be around that woman again and will not be left in that room or I will take him home right NOW. She asked what happened and said that she wasn't surprised. WTF! NOT SURPRISED? Then why is she working watching MY SON??? OMG I was so mad I could cry. They assigned Devin to his favorite caretaker from now on, and he is not to be left with anyone else.

The owner went so far as to say that she even put that worker in a room with a window to the front so that she could peek in on her. WTF! Fire her! I found out that they transferred her to the babies after the older kids complained that she was mean to them! So, they put her with kids who aren't old enough to tell their parents that she is mean??

What kind of f*d up bad judgment is that.

I think I will switch daycares anyway just because that is terrible judgment.

Devin was crying so hard that he had hickups, and he never cries. If I knew that bitch hit him or anything, I would rip her fat head off.

find a new daycare asap. what you saw sounds like a regularity, very dangerous. my mother in law owns 4, she has quality control women who do nothing but watch the employees. they do nothing but watch the employees. get a new place.

Did you wave your finger and give them the sistagurl head roll?

I didn't know there was a Gitmo daycare center.
You should have seen them. It was so pitiful. I walked through the door and said, "Devin." He turned and went to crawl to me so fast that he fell off the little cot. He was desperate. UGH, it hurts me just thinking about it. They were all just sitting indian style on the little cots with their blankets, no toys, no bottles and no room to even lie down on the cots. They were just lined up like a little baby concentration camp. I should go beat that woman's fat ass.

I saw her feeding her 9 month old a burrito from taco bell the other day. She just slaps it down on the high chair and the baby eats it with her hands. So frigging sad. She's mean to her own baby.

(((Heatherae)))

OMG, I am so sorry. One time I went to visit a friend who worked at a daycare. They had them ALL in highchairs in front of a TV. The ones who didn't fit in the highchairs were in a play yard. They were all sitting there eating snacks strapped in for the whole hour I was there!!! I even commented on it and my gf said, "yeah, those high chairs keep them outta trouble" The workers took turns going out to smoke and came back and washed thier hands but STILL!!! WTH? :worried:

I didn't even have kids then and it left such an impression on me that it had something to do with how I parent today!

Heather...I am so glad you popped in to check on Devin! I would have totally gone off the deep end too.

I hope you can find a better place or a granny type person who will love him like a grandson and take him to the park, to the store, bring him back to her house to lay down for a nap! Shoot, if I lived by you I would totally do it for you. Sigh....

No, i was at that scary place between tears and whipping someone's ass. That is not a place you want to get me.

stupid daycare workers....all u gotta do to get the to sleep is hold them for a bit and talk to them and rock them.... then plop them in thier bed and say goodnight ....and shut the door.... they might cry a little bit , but they will be asleep in no time....

I know. I've got to look for an arrangement like this. He is in love with the girl who normally watches him there, so I've always felt good leaving him with her. She loves him so much that she keeps pics of him in her wallet. This transition room though was like a jail! UGH

Puddlemonkeys mom started him eating burritos at 9 months. And, he turned out just fine!

Still likes the burritos to!

Yeah, I'm getting him out of there. Another thing that bothered me is that when I described the cot thing to them, I wasn't feeling that they understood why that affected me so deeply. These babies should have been playing, crawling, eating, sleeping, or whatever -- not lined up like little execution victims.

I used to love to play a little execution victim when I was a kid!

Taco Bell to a baby?

Get Darnell out of there.

I just took a break and went and got him in a new daycare. This one looks way better. They even have this big stroller that looks like a fire engine that all the babies have seats in and they walk them around outside every day. It is way more expensive, but I don't care a bit!

YAYAYAYAY!!! Already? That is so awesome. HR, your such a good mama. Way to dish out the $$. Sometimes, no price is too high and you just can't bargain with peace of mind and a happy boy.

ALSO:
When the price is HIGHER expectations and accountability follow! This is many of my friends rational to put their kiddos in very expensive private schools.

I was paying $600 per month, and now I'm paying around $850.

No doubt. If it had been $1000 a month I would pay it. I can't leave and go to work and worry about who is watching him all the time and if the owner is going to have any common sense that day.

Good lord that is a small fortune! But the peace of mind knowing that your son is well-cared for, that is priceless.

The one here that my friend recommended ia $1,750 per month. I just stared at him waiting for the "just kidding".

thats not that bad. ive seen alot more. $600 a month would have raised an eyebrow for me because looking at salaries and overhead, they would need a lot of children and a small staff to really make money, especially if they had large play areas and toys and such. its worth it. i see my mother in laws place run from the inside and she is psycho about the kids and staff. no sitting for any staff ever and the kids better be happy all day. tough work. thats why she has 1 woman per place to watch the staff so they dont slack off and have an accident and get sued.

my wife is a teacher and has her administration masters (so she could be a district superintendent or school principal) and works with her in the summer. my wife said she is a tyrannt and fires people on a daily basis because they arent on the kids every minute. i asked my mother in law about this and she said for the money she is charging a month people could make payments on luxury model mercedes and she expects the service she offers to match that. good mentality when dealing with little babies and such.

Well, I don't mean to freak you out even more but you have to be so careful with babies because they can't tell you that someone was mean to them. Just watch for signs of them being tired and cranky or generally different than normal.

Lol@me moving from pre-med/medical school to prison because of a bad daycare visit. 4realz. I would go fuggin NUTZx1000!!!!

LOL@any of you thinking that ANYONE (meaning social services or police or anydamned body who is SUPPOSED to care) will do shit about what is done to YOUR KID.

When it comes to ^^ this trust me when I tell you that NODAMNEDBODY gives a shit.

And as for any violence against real abusers. Just ask Ellie Nessler's kids how that worked out for them.

I know that this is a very emotional topic - but from a mother who has been LIVING this nightmare for years... trust me, you CANT DO SHIT.

Ms HeatherRae and all the other working mommies and daddies out there - just try your best to notice changes in your child's behavior and if you have to change childcare providers every freaking month.... JUST DO IT.

 Fritos. That is the one snack food that has not been messed with over the years. I have fond memories of being a little kid, riding down a country road wihtout a seatbelt feeding my daddy Fritos and beandip and chasing it with Big Red.

Ok, sorry HR, Fritos make me nostalgic. Now, back to daycaare.

I would have told little Denny to just walk it off.

wire the kid for sound. monitor everything from a surveillence truck parked outside the daycare.

at the first sign of trouble, storm the place with hired muscle and rescue Fauntleroy. Leave the babysitter hogtied with an apple in her mouth.

lol, I'll send him home knowing how to unload the dishwasher and tearing it up on a bike by the time he's 3. lol. I love kids.

The only problem is that posting on EF outdoors is really hard. My laptop is too hard to see when it's sunny and rain ruins it! My internet connection works great all the way down the block! hahaha!

So fuckin glad I don't have kids... Sorry you all have to deal with daycare that sucks~

sitting on cots will only be available in the Premium Care wing of my daycare center.

This will be Standard Care:

Well, not quite water boarding, but it sure wasn't a good, nurturing, educational environment, which is what I expect and demand.

If you feel something is not right then find another daycare, Heather. You will just worry yourself to death if you don't.

Heather, from one full-time working mommy to another - child care is one thing i never ever scrimp on. I dont care how much it costs - i have standards for the care of my child and I will not be deterred because there is a less expensive option available. I have taken my kid out of the afterschool program at his own school which only costs 90 bucks for 8 weeks because one of the workers there actualy hit my son in the stomach (on purpose). The worker was a teenager (HS or college age) and my son was about 7 or 8 at the time. I couldnt believe it. I removed him from that program and put him into a very high quality martial arts school which costs 400 bucks a month (almost 10 times as expensive) but I dont care. I wont sacrifice my child's well being

In missouri, they are either cheap(150 per week)daycare centers or expensive baby education-type schools. I will be going the expensive route. Damn. I wish I had a grandma. My mom can't watch him because it would get in the way of her hair/spa/nail/chinese herbalist appointments

Day care is dicey.

For what age your son is that's not right. First I my daughter went to day care when she was about 6 months and the room had a crib for every child I think. Large play area with many soft toys and a TV with Elmo etc on. Think the ratio was 3 to 1 kids to care takers. In fact you said 5 to 1 which I think is illegal for kids that age. As far as my state. As far as bottles etc. everything was labeled and you were required to label everything for your child. One of the main reasons for that is to stop the spread of illnesses.

That women should be fired and you should find a new place to take your child or you could actually take care of your own baby. Your a single mother? Aren't you? Sorry but single mothers end up leaving their childern to the mob. They get what they get.
