...got a Dear Cornholio letter yesterday.

Seems like I was over-qualified. Which brings me to my next gripe:

I have three now:

New and Improved - Doesn't work.
Why doesn't initation crab meat have it's own name?
How can you be OVERqualified for a job??

Let me translate for you, I speak bullshit.
Overqualified means they did not like you and its a nice way to say fuck off. peace

Are you looking for something in/near Atlanta Buckhead??

No.. I guess if we go downtown, I would like to avoid Buckhead at all costs. I think Virginia Highlands or somthing downtown would be alot more fun. Buckhead kinda sucks these days.

Virginia Highlands = High gay population. Dballer will fit right in.

I'm down with whatever.

pm a nigga when you guys decide.

Corn - over qualified, as far as how I pesonally use it, means 2 things:

1) You are not a fit for the position because of an intangible reason that I don't feel comfortable expressing (such as, you're not a 'personality' fit, or I don't feel you would fit in our corp culture)

OR

2) You're overqualified! If you have more knowledge than the position requires, you will become bored and end up leaving the position.

I will hire someone who is overqualified IF and ONLY IF I it's a growth position with a pre-determined career progression. Meaning, I will hire someone overqualified if in my bench-strength planning I forsee an opportunity opening up in the *near* future that you would be a fit for....then I might go ahead and hire an overqualified person.

Good luck to you :)

welcome to the land of Overqualification, i remeber my boss telling me i was overqualified when i first applied at my current job, i asked him what he ment by that after i was hired, and he said..."Chris, you are far more able to think for yourself, if you were to feel you were being underpaid for your abilities then you would fight for more money or go somewhere else, we want someone who will stick around and not fight upstream." Then he gave me a 9k raise :D

Alot of times Overqualification means you are not willing to be a the company's model of a drone and you are able to think for yourself when all they want is some brainless assclown who says "yessum boss"

That's not necessarily a bad thing (that someone might not be a 'personality fit'). We have departments here where you have to have a THICK SKIN to survive, so if I am hiring a person for that department and I'm interviewing a nice, social, fun person - they aren't going to be a fit for that department, and it in no way is a negative reflection on the individual!

NOT SAYING THIS APPLIES TO YOU - THIS WAS JUST AN EXAMPLE...

Sorry, "S".

May I ask... When did the subject of "moola" come up? Did you know going into the interview if the job paid a certain wage?

Could translate into: "We can NOT afford your current salary".

They tried to bring up a number and my reply was:

I'm sure that you have a compensation range for the job as it applies to experience and I am sure my needs will fall somewhere in that range.

Though that was a good reply....
