I gotta 100% disagree here. People have adapted to online dating and online communicating in general and are EXCELLENT at hiding their insanity. Sure, many put it out there for ya, but many do not. You'd be amazed at the true stories about a lot of people you prob think are normal or "nice" just on EF.

And the big problem here is the physical part of it. Sure, you can always wait til the first meatup to determine that part of it, but then you could just be wasting your time. NEVER judge by online pics either.

Pros and cons. I see nothing wrong with it if you know what you're doing.

Takes a litte time to learn the curve... true enough. But once you figure out all the obvious *little* give aways, it goes very quickly and efficiently indeed.

Email exchange either direct phone or IM Chat then directly to phone, from one call usually easy to determine whether or not to bother for a date. One date and usually it's easy to determine whether you want to see that person again.

Dude, not being able to get a date and not dating for a little while are two very different things. Some people like to take a little time and work on themselves. It's called living a balanced life.
