Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below Whats up guys? I was doing a shot this morning in my right delt, when I discovered what appears to be a a freaky abcess.. I stuck the needle in, and when I aspirated, the syringe filled up with a peachy orange substance, not unlike dial handsoap..I pulled out about 1.5 mls, as thats all the syringe had room for. When I pulled out the needle(I didnt shoot) I expected my arm to explode with pus....nothing, not even a drip of blood...WTF!!! My arm has no swelling, no pain, no redness or heat....no sign of an infection. What should I do? Stick the spot again, and try to drain it? Leave in alone? Jump on some super anti-biotics? I wish I took a picture of the shit that came out of my shoulder...Gross thick and that color...like nothing Ive ever seen...Guess I shoulder use that site anymore...Comments? Advice?

make a non emergency visit to the ER. Let a doc lance it and give you a potent anitbiotic. Thats some nasty sounding shit. like dial soap? cant say in all my years in the medical field I have seen pus that color. You coukld try and pop it. How big was it that you didnt feel it or notice it?

def get it checked..... it sound to me like your shit wasnt injected deep enough and couldnt dicipate. def go to the doc and get it drained, if you dont it could very well turn into an infection overnight and trust me thats no fun.

99.9% of docs in the ER dont have time to report little things like this and they dont really care. An abscess is an abscess no matter how you get it. they are treated not on how ya go it but on the size how long it has been there and if you are febrile.

Go to a local small ER. They dont know you from peter. They wont forward your info to your doc unless you ask them too.

Let's be honest, gentlemen, do you really think (considering the mass of some of you) if you go to a doctor with an abscess in your delt or biceps (or anywhere else, for that matter) the doctor ISN'T going to know how you got that abscess? Doctors aren't stupid, they know what a normally muscled human body looks like, and they know when it's been enhanced. The doctor probably won't even ask how you got it, he'll just roll his eyes at you when he writes the prescription for antibiotics.Papa Lion said:

i had to go to the ER for a bad ass infection i got in my quad which spread to my knee from injectin. worst thing i had to deal with. in the hospital they asked what it was from and i told em i was "experimenting like a dumbass" and nothing ever came of it. it was drained, they put me on some dilauted (which i wish i had my own supply of lmao) and set me up with some srcipts and i was out in no time. its been 6 months and i still have my insurance and havent heard a thing........

People come to our ER all the time saying the have a spider bite. it may have very well been one but 99% of time it is an infected follice or where someone was shooting something. Sometimes in certain areas where there is friction the follice becomes irrataed and then becomes infected.

He even gave me a med. to take to get the sent they leave behind in you out my system. Otherwise he said I would keep getting bit, because they are attracted to the sent. A LOT of my friends n' family got bit by the same spiders after Katrina, at least 20 or more, but I let my case go WAY to far. My best friend's girl, in the same house, but about 3 months later got bit on her leg, and they had to remove a hole all the way down to her bone.
