Weight limit

Anyone ever have their bench/bar/squat rack break on them? Just curious b/c my bench has a 600lb flat, 360 incline/decline weight limit(including lifter). I've had more weight than that on decline but it seems fine so far.
Same with my standard Olympic bar..i believe the limit is 600lbs correct?
And the worst of all, my squat rack :) Says 235 weight limit, but I had 500 sitting on the safety pins this week and it didn't look good, so im making some supports for it now lol. Anyhow Just curious b/c im sure some of you guys have lower weight limit equipment as well.

I don't know about your racks, but I have had over 700 pounds on an olympic bar, and have seen way more. I believe they can handle over 1000 pounds.

A couple years after I had started training. . . I was using a standard weider bench. I was putting 250 to 270lbs on the thing and it was really scary. . the bench was not equipped to handle such a load. One day, I was performing lying tricep extensions with 90lbs. . all of a sudden. . the bench had clappsed (this is how Okies say it. . lol.). Thankfully, I wasn't hurt. Needless to say, it was time for an upgrade.

Be really careful!! If you are training at home. . purchase equipment to suit your needs.

it depends on what bar you have. some bars are very cheap, and will bend the first time you drop it. i was helping a guy doing chain suspended gms and the bar bent to crap after only having 455 on it. some good came out of it cuase he now has a homemade buffalo bar, lol.
