Wax inside your ears

I went to an ENT doctor years ago and he took out a huge ball of wax (I know gross) from my ears. They were the size of a marbles. He said there was nothing I could really do to NOT get that again, Just come in every couple of years and he would do it again.

The whole thing took 30 seconds he just put a sharp pointy thing in there and pulled it out. Well I went 2 years later and there was`nt that much the next time just a very little amount. I`m assuming the first time was from many years of accumilation.

Well, I think I`m ready to go again, It`s been a long time now.

Anyone ever had this done?

PS He asked me "How the hell did you hear with all that in there?" lol I went to him for another reason than that.

i have a friend who always had the tv up so loud it was ridiculous. after much prodding i finally got him to see a doctor about his hearing. he is a bit afraid of doctors and although he would not admit it he was probably scared they would tell him he is losing his hearing.

they found an unusually large amount of wax in his ears and used some sort of water spray to remove it. the doctor said he had never seen anything like it.

my friend's hearing is back to normal and it is possible to stay in the same room with him while watching tv.

About a month ago I pulled two globs out of my right ear that were each easily the size of an new pencil eraser head. I was scared and amazed at the same time.

I used to clean my ears using cotton swabs (but cleaning the ears that way is a must not! because it pulls the wax deeper into the ear cavity). It is suposed that the wax, by itself, is expeled from the ear but sometimes obstructions could happen.

If the wax blockage is severe, hydrogen peroxide 10% v/v and some swabs could help to dissolve that wax excess but nothing is better than visit the ENT.

Actually the doctor was nice enough to NOT put it up to my nose when he pulled it out of my ears.

Hello! I'm an M.A (medical assistant) and I see some pretty unimaginable things on a daily basis. If there's anything that could ever gross me out more than the insides of your asshole, its the doctor cleaning out someones ears. Even though you may think your ears are clean by just using Q-tips, that shit builds up waaaaaaaay in the depths of your earhole. ENT doctors usually remove wax by suction and/or curette techniques. They'll use a solution of peroxide/water and squirt it in your ear with the syringe. When they pull back on the syringe, it creates a slight suction to draw the wax out. There was this old dude that would come in every week, and he was smelly. I'm sorry, this story just brought back the memory of grossness, I must go puke now.......

When I went he just sticks a picklike thing in my ear and twists it out. That`s it. 10 seconds No solution, Nothing.

Should I be doing it the other way?
