I finally bought a washer/dryer for the house and they were delivered yesterday.

First problem, the hoses for the washer were too short to reach to the faucet connections. Solution, went and bought hose extensions so they could reach.

I attached the extensions, and water sprayed out from the female connectors when I turned the water on. I am thinking I should either buy new longer hoses, or get plumbers tape and tape up the hoses that are leaking.

Second problem, I plugged in the dryer to the 220v connector, and there is no juice. I checked the breaker box, and the 220 should be on, but the dryer doesn't turn on.

All I want out of life right now is some clean clothes. Is that too much to ask?

LOL..that sucks! Next time you're buying appliances, pay a few extra bucks to have them deliver and set it up for you...it's worth it! Good luck. :)

My bad. I thought his was a piss thread.

me too. and I actually dug up pics off google before I clicked on it.

Puddles, I did have somebody deliver them and set them up, but since the hoses didn't reach, and they didn't have any extensions, they couldn't do anything. They also couldn't do anything about the power either. However, my contractor will take care of that (yeah, right).

AAP and HGP, go ahead and post them. Like anything has stopped you before.

Spend the extra on the wire reinforced heavy duty water lines.
They will never leak or blow a hole and leak all over your house.

Have you connected the dryer vent hose yet?
That's something else to go wrong.

As for the 220, likely a bad outlet issue.
I would check it with a elec gauge to see if it's hot and call an electrician as 220 is not simething to mess with.

I know, I am having the electrician check it out. I don't want to fool with the 220 at all, considering all the luck I am having so far with the electrical system (fucking dining room lamp).

Man, 220v gets a hold of your ass, you'll know about it!

Good luck....
