i wanan say bullshit, and u know that kid is just trying to stir up trouble and was probably giving him shit and acting out and stuff, and now is tryin to act all innocent. i wanna say fuck that nigga, as an english teacher especially, incoroprating new slang and dialects into thelanguage can be exciting for students. i also wanna say fuck it cause u know if a black teacher said cracka, or if a teacher called another teacher a derka it wouldnt be dealt with nearly as harsh

but on the other hand, he is old, and even though its such a doublestandard, theres always that chance that it was said with hate and innapropriately.

either way it sucks for the teacher
 
Everyone knows that the guy wasn't being racist, he was just repeating what he hears the students saying ALL day long. Should he have said it, no. However, he shouldn't lose his job over it either.

It is a HUGE double standard though. A black guy/girl can use white slurs all day long like cracka, honky (if ur George Jefferson), white bread, opie, ghost, ect, and nobody bats an eye. Now if a white dude thows out a slur (it doesn't even have to be nigger/ah) a big deal is made out of it. What's up with the double standard?

My girl is mixed, she hears it from me quite often. It's about the tone. I would die for her so it is acceptable and obviously not disrespectful. I'm tired of all the PC bullshit.
 
I remember that issue on one of those talk shows...

The kid in the audience was screaming about Africa and about being slaves.

The mother then jumps out of the audience and screams back "YOU WERE BORN IN NEW YORK CITY! YOU'VE NEVER BEEN A SLAVE!"

It was priceless.

NYC, I am saying it in a playful manner. It is never when it is heated or anything of that nature. She says racist stuff to me too, it is NEVER in a serious or degrading tone. We love each other, its different.

That's the whole point. You're trying to argue that blacks using racial slurs is the same as a white using the term nigger. It is not the same. That said, anyone that uses racial slurs regardless of colour is an ignoramus without the intellectual capacity to express themselves in a comprehensive manner.

SAME THING! You can talk about your own, but that doesn't mean you're gonna sit by and let someone on the outside do the same thing. If you don't get that you either don't want to or never will...probably both.
Everyone saying it's the same context when a white guy says it doesn't seem to grasp that the context CANNOT be the same unless you're black. If all you white guys called each other cracker (and the word actually had some meaning to it) I wouldn't call you that either.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous to let something like this piss you off when it is not said in a hateful or demeaning tone. I have had teammates who were black call me nigga. At my college they have a dorm that is strictly for athletes, I lived there for years. The majority of the people living there were black. I said it to them and they said it to me, like I said previously there was a mutual respect. It was always playful or while everyone in the room was laughing. I would be the first to knock someones teeth out who made a racist comment or called somebody a nigger in a hateful manner. I am obviously not a racist, the love of my life is half black. There are a lot of things in this life to get pissed off about, that isn't one of them. There is a time and a place for everything. My black friends call me a honky or a cracker all the time. Does that mean that I should haul off and beat their ass? Give me a break. If you're living your life in this hard ass mindset you will die young. Life is too short.

If that is how you and your friends and your 1/2 black girlfriend communicate with each other . . . Cool.

I would never refer to my 100% white boyfriend as cracker. And, he would never use either term with me (or anyone for that matter). If he even slipped and said it in the "correct" tone, his sexy smirk better be quicker than my temper.

Trust me, that's not a hardass mindset, at all. Its about respect. I don't like either term (I don't care who uses it) and I hope the people in my life respect me enough to not use it around me.

It's not a big part of our relationship. We have a very deep respect for each other. It all comes down to trust. If she was bothered by me saying it occasionally then I wouldn't say it. I guess it just depends on who you are talking with. I would NEVER say it to someone who would be offended by it. I guess you would just have to know our personalities. There is nothing that pisses me off worse than racism. It's on the same level as hitting a woman or abusing a child in my book. I meant no disrepspect to you NYC, I think very highly of you. I respect your opinion and how you feel about it. I don't doubt that if someone lipped it off to my girl they would be eating through a straw for a while. I almost lit one of my friends up the other day for saying it in a loaded manner, my girl had to calm me down over the phone and say that the world is full of stupid people and to not worry about it.

Had an english teacher in college who had to make a point of using the n word in class, while teaching "Heart of Darkness"
It was interesting hearing a white person's perspective on black folks. I think the terms were "rich dark black" ones and those "muddy" brown ones :lmao:

It's exactly the same. If there's hate behind a comment, the fuggin word doesn't matter. That's why charges differ if a crime is hate related. Kill someone.. murder 2. Kill someone because they're gay... hate crime, murder 1.

Disrespect to someone because of their background, be it racial, religious, sexual preferance, etc., is unacceptable. Period. Slavery has been around for a while. It will be around for a while. Race has nothing to do with it.

Because of history, race has everything to do with it. Saying that it is exactly the same is like saying that all races have been treated equally since the beginning of time. The rest of your point, I agree with.
