People are the same all over the world, I just happen to be more sensitive and more verbal about these situations.
I bet this happens in others lives, but it just doesn't affect them the way it does me?! maybe?!
Maybe I need to talk more about all the wonderful people I experience as well

People are still very much helpful, I'm still not quite sure these guys behaved this way, but I chalk it up to that they are just totally miserable, unhappy people.

Same here..I have a soft spot for the elderly. I took care of my sick/dying grandma for many years. When she was placed in a seniors residence, she was treated horribly by some of the people working there. My mom got one lady fired and I got one lady fired.
My grandma "went" in her pants one day and this nurse threw the feces at my grandma. When I got there, my grandma was sitting in her feces crying.
I went ballistic and not only did I come close to attacking this nurse, I went to the admin office and she was let go the next day.
Some humans are so fucking demented!!!!!!

Honestly, I believe it is the area in which you live. Had this happened in NJ there is no doubt in my mind that the scene would have been the same. Heck the men would have been yelling obscenities at her for making so damned much noise revving her engine. Now if that had been the scene in Texas THERE IS NOW WAY that woman would have been stuck for more than a second.

Just one of the reasons why I prefer Texas to the east coast. 99% of the people here are very polite and old-school when it comes to manners and common courtesy.
 
I have to be honest here - I am not sure that I would have helped. I'm kind of lazy and if it would have required the work of getting on boots and jackets and walking down there to shovel - I don't think I would have done it. However, I would not have been sitting there laughing at her. In fact, I so rarely notice others - I probably wouldn't have even known about her or her problem.

Oh my GOD!!! Jesus H Fuckin Christ lady you gotta be kidding?!?!?!!! I'd be in prison, cuz I would've killed that bitch. They'd have to go off dental records to identify her after I was through. I swear my BP must've just went up 50 points because I feel hot now.

You shoulda Sparta'd her ass too. DAMN!!! Damn.

Children and elderly are treated worse than dogs in our society.

Again... my family (as is yours Blue) is living proof but sadly enough people really don't give a shit .... until it happens to THEM.

Hell just the utter tripe that one reads on these boards is enough to make a body's stomach turn.

Not kidding and trust me, this nurse had the look of terror on her face when I confronted her.

And I swear on God's green earth, the other seniors residence she was in, the lady that ran the home was feeding the older ladies rotting food.
I was there once and went into the fridge and saw all the food was green with mold.
We took my Gma out of there REAL QUICK!

The eldery get such LITTLE respect and like BM says, so do kids.
 
OK......this is MESSED UP and honest to God

Karma was quick on this. Was on my way out before and I was in a rush. I just ran into my car and didn't bother looking at the driveway before leaving and I gun it out (backwards) and what happens? I GOT STUCK IN 3 FT OF HARD SNOW. The snow crew passed and the snow was ready to pick up with the plow.

I panic cause the plow was (AM NOT JOKING) 300 ft from me coming right towards my stuck car....HAHA..I freaked. Well I go to rush out of my car to get a shovel and yep, my drivers side door was pined closed as was the passanger door.

This older man driving by sees me stuck and gets out of his truck with his shovel to shovel me out...........HOW FRIGGIN IRONIC is that?!

Anyway, the city trucks and plow had to wait about 15 mins until I was out. My entire street was blocked. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO embarrassed. I'm sure the city guys were like "fucking women"
HAHAHHA

Karma is sweet ;-)
 
lately I've been making an effort to smile more at fat chicks and be pleasant with the "unnoticed"
I do a very intensive bodybuilding circuit training class
and there's a few hefty ones in there
but they are doing the right thing and busting ass
so I encourage them

one day last winter on the commute from my office in the valley to my office on the mountaintop, i came across and older woman who had lost control of her car on slippery roads and gone out through the woods, bouncing off a couple/few trees as she went. . .i was the first person on the scene. . .she was wearing a seatbelt so she wasn't injured. . .just bruised and shaken. . .the car was pretty banged up, so she couldn't get her door open. . .i managed to get the door open far enough to get my gloved-fingers under the outer edge, i left one foot on the ground and put the other against the back door and pried the door open. . .i got her out of her seat bealt, i got her out of the car, and i realized she had flats on, so before she could fall on her ass, i picked her up and carried her up the embankment to the road and helped her into my car where it was warm. . .by then another car showed up. . .it happened to be a couple of state troopers one stayed with me while the other drove up the hill to get a cell signal. . .while the trooper directed traffic around the scene (i couldn't get my car all the way of the road), i walked around the woods and picked up all the lady's belongings. . .bouncing off the trees knocked out all her windows and all her stuff that wasn't nailed down flew out. . .once the state boys had emergency vehicles on the way and transferred the woman to their car, i just said goodbye, got in my car and left without leaving my name or anything. . .

My driveway is on an incline so when you back out, you can't see the street until you get to the end of the driveway.
