Was Howard Stern the primary reason

Was Howard Stern the primary reason you purchased your satellite radio?
I stopped listening when he went off the FM air waves.

yes

yeah, stop listening when he left. He was going downhill for years anyway. The old bits were great, before his divorce. since then all he did was have strippers on and talk about their fake tits. Nothing wrong about that but it gets boring. Remember those video tapes he made? Those were the shit. You can't beat the tribute to vagina or the US open sores.

yup. . .love stern. . .now that i have sirius, i listen to a lot of other stations (i'm an alt-rock junkie and i live in the hinterlands of nc pa. . .not a good station w/in a hundred miles of here). . .i also enjoy the football coverage. . .and i like riding along with mark martin and dale jr :)

who is "earnhardt"?

lol

ok, i don't listen to any sports, unless you count howard stern.

I did have sirius but could not get the howard stern show on it. I guess you have to pay for that seperately?

no- its channel 100 and 101. doesn't cost extra.
That is odd. I could read the channel that it said howard stern on the display, but I only got dead air. :whatever: I had no idea why. I usually listened to the jimmy buffet station anyway because I was usually outside and in sunny weather when I used the sirius radio.

a big refund usually means you paid in too much to begin with. . .or you lost your ass on something. . .when "good fortune" comes your way, it usually costs you money. . .

i got a dentist client of mine $8k+ back. . .he started his own practice toward the end of the year (small loss), he worked for someone else up to that point, had taxes withheld through most of the year at the "higher single rate" and he and his wife had a baby during 2006. . .viola. . .big refund. . .

i'm not really sure what happened. i bought and sold 2 homes, but i was unemployed for a while. i thought i'd get clobbered, but it was fine!
i included a lot of home office expenses, but i didn't think i even included enough.

i won't quite believe it till i get the checks.

the houses generated "capital gain" income (taxable at a maximum rate of 15%) and you probably made estimated payments throughout the year based upon 2005's "ordinary income" which is taxable at up to 39%. . .you were unemployed for a while so your ordinary income was down. . .and the result of the gains on the house sales being taxed at the lower capital gain rate is a big refund. . .if i had to guess :nerd:

all this tax talk is turning me on. . .have i sexually harrassed you lately??

i didn't make estimated payments. i was told to, and didn't. :worried:
do i still have to pay capital gains tax if i purchased another house? because one sale netted me a profit of $450,000 from the time i purchased it to the time i sold it, but i bought another home with that profit.

and... no, i don't believe you have. :)

if you purchased another house, you can roll the gain from the other sale(s) over into the new house (thus deferring recognition for tax purposes) by treating it as a like-kind exchange (form 8824). . .

however, if you intend to continue "flipping", beware of the "real estate professional" rules that will recharacterize your flipping activites as "ordinary" rather than "capital gain" income. . .this is a double-edged sword because the income will be subject to the higher ordinary income tax rate AND you can't defer gain recognition (through a like-kind exchange) like you can with a "capital gain" transaction. . .

god. . .is it hot in here. . .or is it just you??
