Justin,

Little bit east of Huntington, off of 25A.

are you in oyster bay cove?? i was right in tall oaks today painting a house, because i paint for my dad...

what block do you live on?..

Warik, you're taking my words out of context.

You know perfectly well thats not what I meant.

You see, when I was 19,20 I was pretty much like you.
I hated group work because a lot of people
are slow. That annoyed me even though I tried
hard for it not to.
The fact of the matter is group-work is ESSENTIAL in any
type of endeavour.
If you go through life doing just solo work, you'll suffer.
I'm telling you you will.
Warik, I'm not being mean or anything its just that
I've seen a lot of very bright and capable people
get isolated because they just couldn't work well
in groups.
And LOL, I too couldn't care less what marks I got at UNI.
I find it very easy. The only reason I go is that I get
to Kibitz with some VERY experienced and knowledgeable
people from British Aerospace and EADS.
I've learned more about the intricacies of the Aerospace
industry in the past year than I've learned in my
4 years of Uni.
In conclusion, there's always someone smarter,or
more experienced than you.
I had to find that out the hard way. I can laugh at it now,
but damn did I ever get embarrassed at the time.

And btw, the US system SUCKS. European universities
tend to be much better. Less bullshit, more interesting.
(Except for sports. They just suck :) )

Godspeed

Actually I did think you were referring to my megalomaniacal humor (that's what you quoted). I agree with you in terms of group work. It unfortunately IS essential for large endeavours. The horror stories my friend tells me about his job (project lead for a software company) makes me wish I didn't have to do any group work in the future.

It's like that old idea of "most people are average and then you have some exceptions that excel." It doesn't seem to be that way in the computer world... here it's like "most people are goofs, but eventually you'll find someone who knows what he's doing, and then, in rare cases, someone who actually excels."

I hope to be the one who excels.

Well said.
