Warik, sometimes intelligent people need to learn how
to be humble.
Most of the people in my future profession are 40+
with over 10 years exp..
In my UNI I'm considered a genius, next to them I feel
like an ant.
Just putting things in perspective.
even if you end up not needing it its still best to go through it just in case it does help you. college grads do tend to make more than people who didnt go to college. they also tend to have more teeth.
That's the kind of person I want to be - the kind that does the ant-ing.
I'm honestly not impressed when someone tells me educational credentials. "Harvard, Yale, MIT, Caltech, blah blah blah!!!" OK, so you've proven that you can score close to perfect on the SAT and that you enjoy sleepless nights of studying - what have you done in the real world?
When someone asks me: "why should I hire you instead of someone else" (even though in my/my friends' experiences that is the bullshit question that everyone warns you about even though it never gets asked... does it ever get asked?), I want to be able to list companies, accomplishments, and software products as opposed to "I had an A+ at MIT!!! Me SMART!!!!!!!!"
hey if you think that justifies wasting your time....
I spent almost every day of my Programming III class doing work on my laptop for my job, pretending I was taking notes and following the teacher's examples.
Taking any economics courses? If you are then you know about opportunity ocsts - that's the amount it costs you to be there, because you could be getting paid more doing something else.
