I really hope not too dude....

But I mean... shit. We are going to LOSE some guys this time... not like the 50 guys who died in Desert Storm because water heaters blew up or helicopters crashed... we are going to lose guys because they are blown up by artillery, missles, God-awful shit...

Believe it or not... those guys belive in what America stands for... they are over there fighting for it. They are over there FIGHTING for us... whether you believe in it or not... they believe in America. I'm going to be damned if I'm not going to support them 100%...

Hey thanks Citruscide. Though I haven't been sent to the middle east yet there is alot of fighting going on in Asia as well and with as much training my units doing I can't help but think we will get sent somewhere sooner or later. I appreciate reading supportive comments like this and I bet my brothers and sisters in arm would too

These were just illustrating how the protestors should respect the soldiers, I didn't expect anyone to have a problem with respecitng our soldiers.

I was saying WTF to the pic of the protestors calling the soldiers to shoot their officers....don't they know where the orders originate?

I dont think I should shut up Frack,Im not pro government but these people are fighting for freedoms we take for granted and the fucking protestors spit on it,if they dont like it fucking move somewhere else, anbd please if you respond prove me wrong,no one sentence answers

have a nice day:D

BTW... the Chicago downtown protests mobbed onto Lake Shore Drive tonight during rush hour... effectively causing hours of delays (yay free speech) ... several protesters caused damage to motorists who honked THEIR protests of being delayed from getting home to watch Smackdown... which, ironically, was not shown....

I think that right now, we are beyond the time of anyone protesting this war. We're there, there's nothing that will change that. I think that right now is when this nation needs to come together whether you agree with the war or not. THat needs to be put aside, and we need to all come together as one to show the men and women who are fighting for this country that we support them and believe in what they are doing. ANd that we are praying they get their job done and come home quickly and safely.

Distinguish between a soldier, who is always a hero when doing his job, and the Politician, who controls the soldier, often less than honorably....also, I was referring to the fact that I think former Iraqi citizens have a right to voice their disagreements, as they likely have family members in harms way.

at UC Berkely... 99.7% of the students did NOT participate in any of the protests ... I think there was like 200 people...

That was today in Sproul Plaza. And you're correct, it looked like around 200 people. But that's at any given time. I stopped by for a half hour, but moved on because I had to attend lecture and prepare for my midterm. UC Berkeley has obviously decreased in activism since the late 60's, but it's still pretty active. Most of us have either left for spring break or were going to class in preparation for our last round of midterms. Doesn't leave a lot left for protesting.

As to soldiers, I agree. I think a distinction needs to be made though. I fully support our armed services and have the utmost respect for them. The armed forces is a tool, and I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is the wielder of that tool. I can protest the war and the reasons for it while maintaining respect for those who are doing the fighting.

Actually, the ACT of protesting is very important to our democratic society. Regardless of the view point being taken (i.e. - pro/anti war)

Protesting is a process that allows differing segments of society to "vent their steam". It is a legitimate and valid form of expression - even in these difficult times.

A question for thought.........
Where are the PRO-WAR demonstrations?

To those of you who see the anti-war demonstrations as anti-American, why don't you organize a counter demonstration in support of the war? At least the people who feel passionate about thier convictions against the war are doing something.

(I'm trying to stay neutral here)

Good point. America seems split between active protest of the war and arm-chair approval of it. Haven't seen a single pro-war protest.
