sorry Bikini, your in the wrong thread. your in the kill em first let god sort them out crew right now. some of these ppl enjoy seeing female protesters getting manhandled by jacked up asshole cops.

First of all not all the protestors are women. Secondly, these protestors have been throwing bottles at the police, and vandalizing property. SO MUCH FOR A PEACEFUL PROTEST!

Well you're referring to the more hippie-fied protestors and I agree....but there were alot of regular folks out before the war...tens of thousands

yup

politicians are using the 'serviceman and women' arguement to avoid a wave of anti-war sentiment during invasion day

while i dont think protests against soldiers are appropriate during war time, vigils for those in iraq and our soldiers would be nice. i think they should switch to these types of demonstrations

and afterwards successful or not i think there should be an investigation as to whether this was all necessary in this time frame

I'm still concerned about the occupation...there is alot of history, alot of bad blood there as I understand it and our guys are going to be in the middle of it all.

the scary thing is if the extremists do their suicide shit on the bases we are likely to set up in their cities...

on the one hand blair wants to get the EU involved in post iraq rebuilding, bush wants america to handle it all (and the costs!)

these bushies have a hell of a problem with there eyes evidently. lincoln says the other night that all hippies were spitting on soldiers, which is obviously a crock of shit. did some of them? sure what are they? peices of shit.

by the above post, i got the impression that all the protesters were throwing bottles. no, they werent. you wanna know how i know? cause if the cops were being assualted en masse, theyd break out the tear gas. no tear gas mans that the bottle throwing was limited to a few twerps, and damn sure doesnt need to be accredited to a whole group of ppl.

dont you agree?

Like I said, no problem with protests BEFORE the war starts...

Shut up and support once it's going... not a big issue.

Not to mention... of the "massive" college-protests that went on.... 95% of most schools populating students did not participate ... at UC Berkely... 99.7% of the students did NOT participate in any of the protests ... I think there was like 200 people... so... around 5% of our nations students came out to show disapproval of the war.

Frackal -- we are going to need to occupy Iraq to set up our attack of Saudi Arabia... mark it here... we will go after them next...

This makes me sick.

Here are two quotes I saved from other threads:

It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestor to burn the flag

To the peace-at-all-costs crowd, I say: peace was given a chance, and peace failed. So, rest up. There will be plenty of protests for you to attend in the near future. That's because we're fortunate enough to have a president who recognizes the lurking dangers that you choose to ignore. As you savor the freedoms, comforts, and luxuries of the American existence, remember the Iraqi people, who have none of these things thanks to Saddam Hussein. And think of our kids in the Gulf, the ones you probably view as offspring of rednecks and other unsophisticates. They've pledged their lives to secure your right to scream yourself hoarse about the evil United States. They're the ones who are about to liberate the Iraqi people. And when they do, they'll be making a far greater contribution to humanity than has ever been made by antiquated actresses bellowing stale sixties slogans into bullhorns at peace protests."

those dopes in SF are out of line. disrupting peoples livelyhood and safety is just plain wrong, I don't care which side of the fence you lie in terms of the war.
