want a crazy tough split

ok so i was watching this shawn ray training video "inside out" and he interviews John Brown (former mr universe). And he says what split they used.

Monday, wednesday and friday: Chest/shoulders/arms
Tuesday, thursday and saturday: Legs/back

now, this sounds crazy right?
but what if i tried it? i mean, i really want to do something really off the wall for my next split. if not this, what do you suggest?

For those that dont know me, i have 10 years of weightlifting under my belt now. and i work as a PT, so i do know a little something about training. but i just want to do something insane to break my body completely down.

this is a normal reply, overtraining. but overtraining isnt something that happends in a flash. its something that will be on its way for somtime before occuring. i think most people use overtraining to easy.

i think there must be an extreme in both ways. the less iss more extreme approach is Mike Mentzer approach to HIT, 1-2 sessions a month for 12 minutes or something like that. How many of you would grow on that? But still he sold books like crazy when he started sellling his idea. So maybe this is the extreme the other way? Either way, id love to give it a go. And i might do it, for a month. See how my body reacts to the havoc.

When I played football that is how the weight lifting program was set up...well similar, it was upper body mon, wed, fri and lower body tues and thurs.

There are keys to training that way so you won't overtrain. for example on mon we may go light on upperbody...high reps light weight, wed. may be intermediate and fri real heavy and of course you are not doing the same routines...so if you do three excercises on mon for chest you are not going to do those same exercises wed and fri when you work chest.

I personally perfer to hit the bodypart one to two times a week and be done...but I do know people who train like this...and they do see results.

just consolidate each 2 workouts into 1 full body day, and train 3 times a week...oh wait a minute--that's HST. Just do HST. It works [very well].
