Wanna buy my power rack?

If I COULD, I MAY sell this power rack. It comes with (not shown) a dipping bars and pullup handles. I`d hate to just dump it, it`s still fairly new. I don`t like the narrow depth it has. It`s custom shortened to fit my basement ceiling of just under 7 feet. maybe 6`10 or 11... . Anyone in NJ and wants it for $250, I`m just throwing the idea around.

If you`re tall like me I would`nt reccommend a 26 inch deep rack like this. If I get rid of it, I`ll get the 33 inch deep one. I`m 6ft 3 tall.

Can someone post for non plats? It`s not like they`ll buy it anyway, those cheap fuckers.

Also, I have a list of people I can`t talk to or associate with.

Actually, If someon`es really interested I`ll seel the Smith machine in the background there and maybe even the lat machine/low row (LR custom height as well..

Wish I could see the pic. Don't even know what a power rac is, but you say it won't work for tall people anyway.

Maybe someone can post a bigger pic for nonplats. I am/was using this rack but I find it a little too restricting. When squatting in it, I have to be exactly in the center (front and back) so I don`t hit either the front or back bars. Out of the whole time I`ve owned it, I hit the front (bar catch) once, but I still don`t like the constricting nature of it.

http://store.gymcor.com/powerrack.html here`s a pic of the one I have. I got mine for $350 but paid $80 extra at a local welding shop to have it cut.

I'll take those DBs. And Id like that barbell with about 225# worth of plates so i can work on my deadlift in the luxury of my own home. Thanks.

damn, wish i could right now. that'd be nice to have.

EDIT - pic for non-plats

GL,

I think I'd have the same problem as you, and I'm a couple of inches taller as well.

But it would be nice to have, as it would save me a trip to the gym in the evenings. Think I'll go out and get one.

Where do you live? I`ll make it very easy for you, cause you`re a bood bro. I`m not doing this for the money...

i live in Central PA. for me to get to 6 Flags, it's just over 4 hours i think. Philly suburbs area is just under 3 hours. that give you an idea of how far i am?

i dunno if that'll fit in my basement. i'm gonna go measure my basement height right now.

GL are you getting rid of it so you can get a new bigger one? Or because you quit lifting?

lol i dont think he started yet ;)

thats a nice setup GL, i didnt think there would be so many people with fixed DBs around. i still ahve to make a rack for mine, damn things

Golden, I have a two teir rack for the DB`s. It holds from 20`s up to 50 or 55`s I think. You can`t see it in that pic it`s right next to the 100 pound DB`s. It may be in my gallery pics.

Smurf. Do you think I`m too huge and should stop working out? lol jk I want a bigger rack that I can comfortably fit in. This has been working fine but I figured might as well ask, if I could get away with paying $150 more out of my pocket, I`ll do it. Any more than that, I may just keep this. The hassle of doing the whole thing will suck too, that`s also a consideration.

Also, I was thinking of just replacing my 26 inch bars with 33 inch and redrilling holes on the bottom of this rack. Then all I need is two new bars across the top of this rack to make it deeper. All that may cost the $150 by itself, so I could go either way...

Crak, you live far bro. lol I`m right next to NYC.

I`d love to replace my lat machine with a selectorized weight stack one. I`m too lazy t change weights by hand. Pins rule! lol I was`nt cut out for this lifting stuff.

Smurf, $99 for a 330 pound Olympic set at The Sports Authority. Comes with a bar, and a few hundred pounds of weights, 2- 45`s, 2- 35`s, 2- 25`s 4- 10`s 4- 5`s 2.5`s ...something like that. Every couple of months they have a sale. I bought 4 sets total and a few free weight plates. It`s not even worth buying the free weights, just buy the set WITH the bar, I have 4 bars. One on the bench, one on the rack and 2 on the floor set up with weights for the least amount of stripping and loading. lol Again, laziness.

right next to NYC? you're about 4 hours or so. havn't done that drive, but i've pulled it up on mapquest cause i was going to a few times.

LOL You remind me of those North Carolina directions I once got... "Drive down this road a bit" = 150 MILES!!! "Then turn right" lol

I don`t know bro, I don`t wanna push things, I figured I`ll through this out there and see where it lands. Like I said it`s been good so far and I have to coordinate getting a new one to replace this... I`m a slow mover...

I thought if someone was really interested, that would get my ass in gear to make the change.

i've seen a similar deal at Sears. 300lbs including the bar for $99. a rack, bench to hold it, some dbs, i could say fuck the gym and workout at home for the most part. damn, need some cash.

Smurf, get the keys from Tiger88. He`s in the shed. lol

Seriously I ask people to lift down there because I hate to see the money and equipment go to waste if I`m the only one using it.

GL - if i could, it wouldn't be til August anyway. too busy through the rest of this month to even consider making a whole day out of a trip to NYC and back. sold grandma's house and i now i'm busting my ass to get it 100% cleared out before the settlement date. someone needs to be paying me to do all this work, because i'm essentially doing it for free.

so someone needs to be paying me for all this work i'm doing. it really is work. anyone offering? i could use the money for a nice home gym so i don't need to lift with the college boys. thanks.

and my directions were just to give you an idea, not how to get into my backyard :D

I-80 is my ticket east and west from here, as it's about 14 miles from my house.

With all that equipment, I still miss the gym sometimes. I manage with that but A leg press would be nice. If I had more room...

I had one at my old house. Left it there...

I think that's a pretty good deal on the rack.

As far as the $99 barbell sets don't go there. The holes in the plates are not properly machined to the bar ends. You will end up buying a new set within 18 months if you are serious about lifting. Also with the plates the tolerance is ridiculous. Some might be 49 lbs some might be 41.

I am lucky I live about 2 1/2 hours from York, PA where the York barbell warehouse is. I just go there whenever I need eqipment. I'm very happy with my 1500# bar and plates. Also got a Schwinn power rack for $199 that is very similar in construction to gls. But gls is slightly beefier and has the #s on the vertical bars.

If you get the $99 BB set at least invest in a pair of Ivanko collars. But beware no matter how tight you slide them ap against the inside collar they are going to clank and shift a lot.

I was thinking of getting at least one good bar for deadlifting and/or squats. Just never got around to it.

That`s crazy about the weight mount! 49 or 41??? lol I gotta put them on my digital scale, it goes to 1/10ths of a pound.

OK constant... Crak when lummy says 1500 pounds, I believe he`s talking about the bar strength.

fully agree with lumberg regarding cheap plates, many are only fit for leg pressing. hell my gym has 44lb plates taht go up and down by 5lbs...tight arse bastard

GL did you get the rack made or did you buy it? i was thinking going two tier but i ahve far too many bells- i have them (in kg) in 10, 15, 17.5, 20, 25, 27.5, 30, 32.5, 35, 40, 45, 50 and im going to make up the 12.5 and 22.5s before i construct. damn thing is going to be big. maybe a 3 tier would be the way to go. that or maybe leaving the bigger ones on the floor..

I bought it. They have longer ones and 3 teir that would be good but I did`nt want to be in front of the mirror (not sure if you could see it in the pic) I`d rather have them on the floor like that. I`m not crazy about the rack. It`s good for the 20-55 pound DB`s the 60`s to the 100 will be fine sitting on the floor.

I just measured 4 45 pounders they were 45.9... 45.7... 45.4 ... 45.1 that`s not too bad I guess. I have 8 or 10 of them but did`nt feel like stripping bars to get to them.

I weighed a 50 pound DB, it was 50.7 Damn, I`m stronger than I thought. YES!!!!!! lol

get a drill, get rid of the excess. damn, now im going to go weigh mine

lol Nah, I fI ever make it to the Olympics (special) I`ll get that technical. Should I take off my watch too? It weighs down my left arm. lol jk

lol no but things like that bug me ;)

ill be doing alternating DB curls and be saying with each rep: this is the heavy one, wait, no, this one is, no wait, that one hurt more, surely thats the heavy one....

meanwhile all of that doesnt matter since my right arm is larger tahn my left ;) (by a tiny bit) :)

Hey GL -- where in NJ are you?? Close to NYC? I'm in DE

I'm 5'4" tall & my hubby is 5'2" tall -- so that rack would be perfect as we are a whole foot shorter than you......

wow, you and your husband are gonna make me feel tall when we go out for some brews.

Yeah really!! We are short!! His daughter is only 4'8"......

When did you want to do that again??

weekend of the 23rd sounds about best, as long as i can find someone to watch my son while we're all out. she's off that entire weekend, and that's teh weekend before settlement. i'm gonna be mega stressed by then i'm sure, so getting lit up will be a good relief.
