WalMart sucks

What the fuck? Closed on Easter? One of the major shopping days and they were closed to "give their employees quality time with their families".

But yet they can work them like dogs every other day, not pay them the overtime they deserve and fuck every other business to hell and back.

I used to shop there all the time beccause they had the best prices then all of a sudden, about a month ago, everything went up. Not just a few cents but .50 - .75 cents on everything.

Sam Walton might have had a good thing when he started the company but it sure has gone to hell.

Walmart is awesome. I bought a shitload of Top Flite XL golf balls for $12.

Walmart is to GODLiness as Sam Walton is to Rich
and being closed on Easter Sunday proves it.

Walmart is a People Watchers paradise as well.
A plethora of choices

One thing I dislike about walmart is the rudeness of some of the employees there. I have been shopping before in the middle of the day and have been blocked from the shelves by people stocking the shelves. Have had to ask them to excuse me so I can get to the merchandice cause I'm the f' ing customer and I have the right of way. Several have actually been pissed because I asked them to move. I love the variety... but hate the rude assed people. Other customers suck too when they block the isle talking and I say excuse me and they act pissed:mad:

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING WHEN I WENT TO WAL-MART LAST NIGHT AT 10PM TO TRY AND BUY ANOTHER CHOCOLATE BUNNY RABBIT. GOTTA LOVE THEM RABBITS.

I love it. I can get a doze jumbo eggs for .79 cents, a gallon of milk for $2.50, loaf of bread for under $1.00, etc, etc. Plus the people watching ;p And hey, where else can you buy dvds, a car stereo, a gallon of paint, some cough medicine, and food at 2am? LOL Seriously, so much is there (Super Walmarts that is), that you can't help but love it.

I can't stand Wal Mart.

They get corporate welfare from our cities--OUR tax money. Then local business go bankrupt. Then Wal Mart abandons its store and rebuilds a mile away for more tax breaks.

They are the world's #1 retailer of products made in sweatshops. I'm a Dad, so I have strong feelings about the exploitation of women and children.

They overwork and underpay employees, and are the largest employer in the world. Half of their full-time employees qualify for food stamps. Company health insurance has to be bought by the employee. So much for "family values" for those of us trying to raise kids.

They actually COST American jobs, despite their promises to cities that they will BRING jobs. I defy anyone to find any clothes, baby goods, shoes, etc. in a Wal Mart that are made in America. The result is that Wal Mart hangs American flags everywhere, but they devastate American workers' employment. We lose trade labor jobs, and are traded minimum wage for the whole community.

They have been expelled from the Domini 400 index of socially-responsible employers because of their violations of human rights in labor camps, where all of their clothes are made.

They have been removed from Fortune's 100 best employers list because of the numerous lawsuits against them for uncompensated forced overtime, harassment, abusive treatment of workers, price fixing, sweatshops, community pollution, community economic drain, etc.

I don't know if you are joking or not.

Wal-Mart isn't Neiman Marcus or Saks.

I dont' shop Walmart, but I do shop Sams... since the prices are better and I buy in bulk

Other than the fact that the are bad for our economy in that they monopolize business in small towns (and large ones lately) putting small business owners out of business because they simply cannot compete with the price or selection WM has, It is cheap and convenient.

No actually I'm not joking. I don't know what part you are talking about? The whole thing? I don't believe I said that walmart was Saks or Neiman Marcus. It's the only place in this one horse town to buy decent groceries. Otherwise I would never set foot in the place. I hate it.

I found it funny that you were complaining about employee behavior at a store that pays about minimum wage.

I just find it funny that for that price, customers still expect attentive and helpful employees. They hire morons and pay moron wages. So they get moron behavior. How do you think they keep things so cheap?

if you want cusotmer service, Wal mart is not where you'll get it.

What state do you live in?

I see your point:D I live in the state where Walmart got its start , Arkansas. Walmart is King here.

yep - arkansas it is.

I was just curious whe you said "one horse town". I suspected you could have meant louisiana, where I've lived before.

Arkansas is one of 10 states I have never been to, except to drive through.

I doubt that Walmart hires people with "be a moron" as the job description. The job is to help customers. If the applicant did not like the wage or the job description, they should not have accepted the position. The customer has the right to complain.

No one is forcing anybody to work at Walmart. I'm surprised that you of all people (didn't you say you owned a business or two?) can think that moronic behavior is acceptable on basis of inadequate salary. If you don't like the pay, don't take the job!

Though, I agree that the Walmart staff is moronic at best... hence the reason I would rather spend half an hour looking for something than ask somebody. They'd probably spend 10 minutes searching exactly where I searched and then finally check the computer to see if they even have the damn things in stock.

Uh....

As someone who's done a stint at Wally World, I'll say this....

Don't blame the employee for poor company policy.

I worked my ass off and got great reviews, but sucky pay. Meantime, everything was geared so that any moron could do it. Rather than hire competent people and pay them well, they take the dregs and pay little to nothing. Because most of their people are next-to-useless, they don't pay much nor allow overtime for most of them....making it ineffective to stay with them if you can do better.

End result? They get what they pay for....poor employees.

After I got my review and was insulted with the same pay raise as people who would spend their 8 hours looking to evade doing any work, I changed jobs. The other option was to be like everyone else and do as little as possible for the pay. Unfortunately, that violates my work ethic. However, what incentive is there to give your best when it's not rewarded?

There's like one Supper WM that I might go to ......if its late at night or something.

It's the atmosphere I can't stand. Yeah, that sounds goofy, but bohemeth, baby making machines as parents with 12 children running around like maniacs with no manners or common sense tends to grate on my nerves a little.

It is a little strange to see people so overweight that they need a motorized scooter to get around. I feel sorry for them.....until I see them cruise down the candy isle at warp 3 and single-handedly clear out the M&M / Mars section and top it off with a case of Little Debbies. (Ok ya cant blame em for the Little Debbies)

I now know why they invented double-wide trailers though.

Once you try Costco, you will never look back. That is a very fine operation and the prices are a little better than Sams Club. The employees are treated well and generally have good, helpful attitudes.

One still has to go to Walmarts and Targets and Sears etc. of course.

The main reason I go to Walmart is that I know they probably carry the item I need and the price is always pretty good. However....they do carry a fair amount of low quality stuff. Blame the consumer for that.
