I'm trying to get some honest info on something that drives me nuts.
Some guys have 30-31" waists yet significant mass (even over 200 lbs). I know a lot of this is genetics. Some people have a frame that gives them a narrow waistline at 10% body fat.
I've been down to 8-10%. I had a 33" waist, but couldn't get lower than that. After bulking, I'm up to a depressing 37", but it's coming down now that I'm cutting.
I'm described as "barrel-chested." I can feel the illiac crest of my pelvis rather easily under my skin, so there's not a lot of fat there. Do some guys just have a lot of girth at the midsection even when lean? This is driving me nuts.
Also, how much does your waistline grow with lean bulk? I know the abs and back don't seem like a lot, but it occurs to me as your lower back, abs, and obliques get stronger, they likely would add a few inches around the waist rather than get narrower.
