Virus killing computer, complete fresh start. Help me re set it up.

maybe i meant dynamic and not static. I've always had to use winipcfg (same command in 95) in the past when i would unplug it and such to renew the ip, so if that tells anyone anything, voila. My brain is just fried from getting the computer to get beyond invalid system disk. By the way no connectivity software at all with comcast. Had some guys come install it, no self install kit.

this is weird since cable connections are static (its basically a T3 splited.....)

not all cable connections are static. Some do have dynamic ip's. A lot of guys I know down here in Florida have roadrunner which I thought always gave out a static ip, but they don't. Most still use an NT or linux box to run through as a router to hide their ip. Paranoid fu**ers.:D
