ok. Only two problems i have encountered so far. Windows 95 is only giving me a vga 16 color display right now, and i dont have a driver disk for my graphics card. What can i do? Im most likely upgrading to 98 today, so if you know that will fix that problem, let me know. Also, windows doesn't have winipcfg so i can't renew my ip to get my cable modem back running on it. I've got it all ready to go i just need to renew the ip, but winipcfg isnt there to load. I'm at work now by the way. More questions to come probably. Those worm viruses absolutely suck by the way.

Goto the website of the company that makes your monitor the drivers are usually listed on manufacturers web sites.

Same deala... You vid card manufacturer then..

Riva, Zoom...whoever.

well concerning your cable connection as long as you have explorer then just use the connection setting program in Win98..... since its a cable connection and it uses a DHCP no other settings are necessary cause the DHCP server will automatically give an IP...

and win95 does have winipcfg or some varient thereon - if you go into either the "windows" or the "windows/system" and look at the files.
back in the day I used to make money in college setting that crap up and that tool is one that we liked.

although in my opinion, your cable modem should work b/c your Mac address is still the same (assuming you still have the same hardware for the ethernet), so just use dhcp (in the TCP/IP settings, say just automatically get the shit - it is one of the radio buttons)

but the ip is still static. So i have to renew it. At least i think. Aside from any of that, at this moment, i'm not getting a connection. Happy i was just typing winipcfg in the run command like i always had, so i assumed its not there.

there might be varient installs from the cd - try doing a find on the cd for winipcfg* and see if it turns up

other than that, I'm too tired to think of anything.

good luck

slick do you know if you got a static ip from your cable company or are they using dhcp?? either way all you should have to do is just go into your tcp/ip network settings for your ethernet card and enter all your ISPs info in there and then reboot the mofo and get your connection back. if you don't want to go through all that just reinstall the connectivity software that you should have gotten when you activated your service.
i'm not sure what the winipcfg command on win95 is...maybe try "ipconfig" ?? that might be NT though.

the only reason you would have to renew the ip on your machine is if you get a dynamic ip address via dhcp from your isp and then you might have to first release the ip from your machine and then renew it so your isp sends you a new one.
