maybe i meant dynamic and not static. I've always had to use winipcfg (same command in 95) in the past when i would unplug it and such to renew the ip, so if that tells anyone anything, voila. My brain is just fried from getting the computer to get beyond invalid system disk. By the way no connectivity software at all with comcast. Had some guys come install it, no self install kit.
