Vicodine Addiction?

Can anyone post any feedback on vicodine withdrawl and symptoms? I used a tab (NEVER MORE) for over a year and am wondering if I quit cold turkey about 2 months ago, if the feelings I get are from w/d or something else. I have used 1 or two on the weekends only since then as the pain worsens, so maybe it's not totally cleared?? ANyone have any thoughts, would LOVE to hear.....

I was precribed some for sustained injuries a while back. The first side effect was nightmares etc... I also felt very relaxed, cool but sometimes lethargic and sleepy. Withdrawl should be no problem unless you were on them for an extended period of time, i.e. over 2 months. You said that you took one tab. Was that per day or every other day? Either way, one tab a day isn't that much. One a day shouldn't be too much to wean off of however; you indicated that you took it for over a year. It will take some time getting used to not taking them. You should wean off the stuff and get it totally out of your system. You don't want to be addicted to that shit. Good Luck.

Vicodin Withdrawal

Vicodin is one of the most commonly abused prescription pain medications today. One of the most widely prescribed medications, Vicodin and its related medications, loricet, loritab percodan, and oxycontin are opioid-based pain medications. Vicodin is a derivative of opium, which is also used to manufacture heroin. Individuals with a Vicodin addiction become deeply depressed, and their thinking, attention, and judgement become impaired. Their thoughts dwell on the next high, although they tell themselves they are still taking Vicodin for pain or to avoid the withdrawal symptoms. Individuals with a Vicodin addiction often truly feel physical pain, but it is psychologically produced.

Individuals with a Vicodin addiction crave more Vicodin and tolerate greater amounts of the drug to achieve their high. Vicodin addictes go to great lengths, even breaking the law to get Vicodin. They continue abusing Vicodin even though they suffer negative physical and social consequences. Individuals with a Vidocin addiction are often aware of thier addiction, but may be too embarrassed or stubborn to admit it.

If a regular Vicodin user stops taking Vicodin, he or she will experience Vicodin Withdrawal within six to twelve hours but the symptoms are usually not life-threatening. The intensity of Vicodin Withdrawal depends on the degree of the Vicodin addiction. For example, the symptoms of withdrawal from Vicodin may grow stronger for twenty-four to seventy-two hours and then gradually decline over a period of seven to fourteen days.

The symptoms of Vicodin withdrawal include but are not limited to:

restlessness
muscle pain
bone pain
insomnia
diarrhea
vomiting
cold flashes
goose bumps
involuntary leg movements
watery eyes
runny nose
loss of appetite
irritability
panic
nausea
chills
sweating

1 a day for over a year.........and yes, i already googled it.........just wanted some true life experiences........

my bro had to have his blood filtered/cleansed....6K
his daily dosage was over 25 tabs a day...
teeth are all brown now....

1 tab a day????....i wouldnt see much problem kicking it. IF it was 1 tab a day...if its not- you'll meet Satan himself tryin to kick cold turkey my friend.

even with the filtering of the blood, my bro wanted to commit suicide...do not be alone under any circumstances when youre ready to kick.

Like I said before, I was on it for maybe a month or so for an injury. When I got off, I phsycologically craved it and my body wanted it although the pain from the injury was gone. The withdrawl caused other bodily pains and I thought I needed more to make the pain go away. I recognized that it was the addictive qualities of the drug and I fought the urge. It's a common side effect. You have to fight the urge and not take it anymore. It's difficult but very possible to attain this goal. Remember, it's a synthetic derivative of the opiate poppy plant. The plant that also produces heroin, morphine etc... It's not something you want to be dependant on. One a day for over a year is a long period however, you weren't taking too much per day. You'll manage as long as you put your mind to it. Good Luck.

i am the master of vicodin addiction. one of the side they don't mention is inferior muscle contraction. it interferes with the synapses...

Using one a day is not very likely to cause an addiction problem. If you stopped for two months without withdrawal symptoms, you're in the clear. There was an NFL football player who was using SIXTY 750MG tabs per day for months on end. So your one tab a day isn't very much to get hooked.
i heard Brett Fahv-rah was using `round 30...
