my brother in laws nephew joined the marine a year ago. he was sent to iraq and he was killed the other day. i knew him and i watched him grow up. i was proud he decided to become a man by joining. my brother in law is terribley torn. he talk him into joining. they say it has to be a closed casket funeral. very sad day for my family. he was an only child in his family.

ive lost quite a few friends over the years. after a while you get almost use to it, emotionless. but when it hits to home its sad as can be. i saw him go from a punk kid with an attitude to a man. you hear about soldiers dying all the time there. but you never realize the families left behind. in the navy we had our helicopter crask and flip upside down. 2 shipmates died. and to watch the group of officers and chaplin walking in your housing development looking for the house his wife and kids who have no clue it happened. that was the saddest thing to witness. ive seen so much death it has allowed me to appreciate life.

I'm sorry

my prayers out to you and your family :rose:

Sorry to hear that bigmann, my condolences and may he pass to a better place.

I am very sorry to hear that.

I sure hope that St. Peter presses and starches his wings to recieve this fellow Marine.

May we all be so grateful of this brave man.

thank you all for the kind words. my brother in law is not taking this well at all. his nephew grew up without a father and raised by his mother. but my brother in law took care of him as if he was his son. he was the father figure to his nephew. it is unbelieveable how quickly bad things can happen. in a blink of an eye. he has had a lot of bad things happen in his life. he is a retired nyc cop. his buddies were killed in 911. then he had some friends killed in iraq. my sister had 3 miscarriages and one made it to 8.5 months and died in her womb. we had a full fledge funural for the baby. how can all this bad stuff happen to the same good people? id be a wreck if i had what happened to him happen to me.

once again thanks to all for the kind words. ill be sure to pass them on to my bro-in-law. ive tried to get him on thisvsite. he's a serious bodybuilder and got me on the right track bodybuilding as well. but he is a very quiet guy but will bounce your ass out the club quicker than shit. i consider him my bro not my bro-in-law. extremely nice guy. he doesnt deserve all this grief. his sister is devistated beyond words. she raised her son by herself with the help of my bro. strong woman who sacrificed everything for her son and he becomes a man and now he is gone.

im sorry for ranting here. its just not a good time around here right now.
