Velvett, how long

fistfullofsteel

Well-known member
how long your longest migrane last or how long until it went away completely? or any other type of headache?

others can throw their record setting headaches in too.

I once had a migraine for exactly 355 days. I would wake up and go to sleep with this horrible migraine. On the 356th day I woke up and it was gone.

I was so used to it that I didn't realize right away that it was gone. It took a while and then I thought it was only going to be temporary. Thankfully, I haven't had a migraine in over five years.

I'd get a ragin-drago-boner going for months non-stop, caused me major migraines. Shit is not funny.

When I was younger, I seemed to have a non-ending one. All day long I had a headache. Sad that people didn't really believe me, lol.

My g/f used to get them so bad she would vomit.

I, personally, never get a headache bad enough to even warrant the use of aspirin.

I would suspect that you were incorrectly diagnosed with migraines. A migraine of that length would likely have killed you via Migrainous Stroke.

No doctor would let you stay in that state that long - you would have been hospitalized.

Welcome back. Much better than watching Letterman.

21 day migraine.

I wanted to die and when I was trying to figure out how to do it - I found out that I couldn't even get up off the sofa without collapsing.

I called a girlfriend and I had to be picked up and brought to the doctors office. At the doctor's office I was told to go the hospital - in a fit of hysteria I begged the nurses to put me out of my misery.

I was truly delirious and if that day would have been my last day living in pain - I would have welcomed it.

Migraines are a part of my daily life - I don't have heachache pain everyday but the nausea and auras have become something I've gotten used to. Sadly, the pain free days are few in comparision with the days of pain and it eats away at the quality of your life.

I only have 18 abortive pills the insurance company will allow me per month - if I run out I have to get myself to the emergency room.

I wouldn't wish migraines on anyone.

If there is one thing people should know about migraines - MIGRAINE IS A DISEASE, A HEADACHE IS ONLY A SYMPTOM. IN ADDITION, THE CAUSE OF MIGRAINE PAIN IS THE OPPOSITE OF THE CAUSE OF HEADACHE PAIN.

Other symptons are nausea, vomiting, auras (light spots), sensitivity to light and sound, numbness, difficulty in speech, and severe semihemispherical head pain

My last migraine stated 5am this morning and after a series of pills and a nap ended just past 11am.

It was a good one.

I feel for you. Don't the docs know how to help you??

I had my headaches for 10 days now. 3 doctors called it tension headaches and told me not to stress. My personal doctor I visited last about 3 days ago thinks it's something at the base of my neck. He thinks it's some sort of inflamation around the base of my neck so he gave me Naproxen for the suspected inflamation but it makes me super drowsy. He also gave me some Xanax because my nerves are shot because the headaches aren't going away.

Today I have to visit a dermatalogist for an abnormal looking mole I have that I didn't think much of it because I had it a long time, and my parents have a bunch of moles so I always thought it was just hereditary and didn't worry about it, but my friend I know at my gym is a doctor and we were talking about skin cancer and bed tanning and I asked him to take a look at it just for the hell of it like 1-2 days ago and he recommended I definitley get it looked at because any mole could turn out to be cancerous (or something like that) and it kinda looked abnormal to him. So how the fuck I am not supposed to stress out? So now I'm stressing about this too and it's not helping my headaches out. I think I need a stronger dose of Xanax.

I will tell you one thing, I couldn't get in touch with my doctor so I went to an EMO doctor because I didn't want to wait. The EMO doc sends me to ER because he said my EKG was way abnormal. He said it could be tension headache but was confused by the abnormal EKG.

(The ER guys.) Let's give him two shots to put him on another planet. Let's do a CAT scan. Let's take out 5 viles of blood for I don't know how many different tests they did. That made me super lightheaded. I need my freaking blood. Somebody throw me freaking bone. Let's do the EKG test on him. Their conclusion after 8 hours there. It's tension headache, CAT scan and blood test are all negative. Your EKG is abnormal but you are just going to have to deal with it, because for some people it just is. O yeah here is some Percocets. Which didn't do shit for me. Then 3-4 days later I went to see my regular doc. The Xanax and Naprosyn are helping a lot more than the Percocets. But they make me super drowzy and dizzy.

Old Chinese guy at my gym recommended ice pack at the back of the neck and I just tried that tonight and it helped some and I might take his advice and try some accupuncture. I am also thinking about deep tissue massage too. Maybe it's a combination of tension/stress and inflamation in neck or some sort of neck problem.

Worse comes to worse. Time to see a specialist http://r.searchhippo.com/r3.php?i=5&q=rememdies+for+headaches&u=http://www.headaches.com/ You might want to check these guys out Velvett.

Headaches truely make a person miserable.

Btw, I did not know this but a person can have skin cancer and if it goes untreated it can travel through your lymph nodes to your brain and wind up causing brain tumors which turns out to be fatal.

I can't even imagine. I get migraines, but only 4-5 times a year. I've had ocular migraines where I've lost peripheral vision and had flashing, but no headache (that was scary, I thought my retina was detaching). When I was younger the migraines didn't make me sick, unfortunately the symptoms get worse the older I get.

FFOS, I do get a lot of headaches that I believe are tensions headaches. I used to have them almost every day. Luckily, since I started working out more they've become more infrequent. Deep tissue massage is definitely helpful, you should try it. I would like to try accupuncture.

Damn I feel for you guys, I never get headaches unless I deal with irratating people for to long.

Not to stress?

You need a script for butabital - it's a generic so it's not so pricey.

Chinese guy is right - put and ice pack on the back of your neck and try to sleep. I would recommend the accupucture - I did it once when I had swelling behind my neck the size of an egg.

The pain did go away within 24 hours.

PM me if they won't give the script.

My mom has had severe miagraines for 20 years. She has some Dynomite Red Pill that shuts it all down...I have seen her locked up in her room under the pillow for 48 hours with severe pain.

Velvett = One tough chick.

I can't imagine having to deal with this. I'd go postal, mental or something.

I know, right. My health is going done faster than the NY Football Giants chances of making the playoffs and I'm not supposed to stress. I'm just supposed to turn into a robot. We need to go beat them up together, Velvett.

I won't be watching the NY Giants play anymore though, because I go beyond stressing watching them play. I will just check out the game on tv once a while to check out the score of the game.

Velvett, I have a cool doc. I'm supposed to do some massage theraphy with him tomorrow and I will mention the Butabital and hopefully he will give me a script or I might just break down and start crying and sucking on my thumb until he does.

(Worth Repeating) These guys have some super duper state of the art equipment and some that they only have. I don't know if they deal with migranes but it can be worth the phone call.

I feel so sorry for her because it is a lot worse than my headaches and I'm a hurting puppy. In fact I feel sorry for anybody with chronic pain or people with terrible sicknesses. Just goes to show you that you should never take your good health for granted. At any second it can be gone and you could find yourself in a world of hurt.
