vastus medialis growth?

hey all,

i have identified a weak spot in my legs, the vastus medialis...while i have a pretty good, and getting better, lateral sweep of the thigh, i can't seem to isoloate the vastus medialis.

can anyone tell me what can work this muscle? or should i just stick to squats and be patient?

thanks for any help!

peterson stepups, split squats, bulgarian squat, low pulley cable split squat on a low block

any of the above can be enhanced for VMO recruitment by putting the lead leg on something unstable like a wobble bpard or SitFit type device. ALthough the Bulgraian squat is already pretty unstable :)

Keep doing your Squats for your overall quad development, but throw in Single Leg Leg Extension *partials*. Although you can't actually isolate any individual head of the quadriceps, the top 4th or 5th of the Single Leg Leg Extension comes closer to isolating the Vastus Medialis than anything, and it does so without the high CNS stress of step-up and lunge type movements that you'd need to do otherwise.

Enough said.
