Vastus Lateralis is Disappearing???WTF

Research has indicated that it may be referred to as:
Traumatic distal femoral neuropathy

Within the past few weeks I've noticed that my left leg vastus lateralis is missing 2-3 inches of muscle near the knee. I'm not experiencing pain or weakness which is good. However, my "sweep" now just ends and it almost appears as if my muscle has just disappeared.A little internet research led me to the above title "Traumatic distal femoral neuropathy" which can be caused by miss placed injections. I have an appt with neurologist for EMG-NCV test but really am looking for anyone that has had any similar experiences that they could share. It kinda has me freaked out.

Really looking for treatments.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing. Right side, just as you described. The vastus lateralis has esaentially disappeared over the course of 3 weeks! Any wiser about the situation or are you still waiting to see the neurologist?
