van hagar, anyone?

I been in the music circle for close to 30 years and I am only 40. People have been accusing Zeppelin of plagiarism for as long as I can remember. I say fuck people, all Zep did was make average songs awesome.. Sorry Robert Johnson!!

Led Zeppelin - Travelling Riverside Blues - YouTube

The problem was when they put their own names in the songwriting credits without acknowledging the source. The most blatant example was "Dazed And Confused", written by Jake Holmes:

These guys still remembered where the song came from:

Now, is this song different enough, a year later, to take Jake Holmes' name off it?

i love the cult but, you know they only played like 3 chords on all their songs, yes??

I actually don't really care for them, the song was a potshot at Cindy, lol. I think you are giving them the benefit saying they played "chords," more like three "strings" a song.. lol....

Here is a chord shredder, quite possibly the most underrated guitarists ever. I hope the superficial-holy types and wannabe theologians forgive me..

AC/DC - Highway To Hell (Highway To Hell promo clip) - YouTube

eh...the cult is fun music...and i can live with power chords...fun music is all about attitude anyway...you don't need to be particularly talented.

and angus?? this clip is probably my favorite hahahaha...crazy little bastard, anyway...

i got a thing for one-handed hammer-ons and pull-offs (the 20 second mark...with one hand over his head...just fuggin' showin' off)...it's just...fuckin' coooooooooooollllll :supercool

more one-handed trickery...eddie style...ok, so he's using his picking hand to work the volume knob, so what?? hahahaha

Lol, yeah, that is the on going haters argument about Eddie not being a "real" guitarist but a magician. I say he is an innovator.. As much as I love Page he has to bow down to the shred master. What you call hand trickery - I call art work- check him out shredding and tapping. Go to 1:41 on the video, he blows the fuckin' roof off...

That was outstanding. He completely dominated that last half of that song.

Prince deserves a lot of respect. He wrote a lot of music and promoted many young artist. Also, gets some major kudos for ragging on the current hiphop shit and it trashiness.

I think he was a freak show for a lot of the same reason Lady Gaga is, that is what it took to get noticed. He is only like 5'2.

i actually love lady gaga...i wasn't a fan until i heard her interview on howard stern...and then she did this song...and she told the story about how/why she wrote the song...and then she played it...and it was soooooo amazing and moving that i almost cried (no :rainbow: and no clomid)...she's truly talented...

Oh..there is not a better talent today than Lady Gaga. I posted her acapella after her New York concert. Outstanding.

my daughter does that song (edge of glory) just like that, except with her guitar instead of a piano...it's amazing...she brings tears to my eyes everytime.

HBO has deleted all her clips of the NY Concert. If you get a chance, record it and watch the post concert. Best part.

probably my favorite underrated guitarist...

...kinda hard to get noticed when you're playin' behind billy...check out the 2:50 mark...fun stuff.

Yeah, he is good. He is all over the place, which is a leading indicator of a good guitarist. Unless I am going blind, it looks like that guitar does not have any pickups on it... I can't really tell what kind of guitar he is playing either, I will venture to say it is a Gibson, I don't know??

Here is some pure guitar virtuosity. I recommend you watch the entire video, however, for the sake of getting an adrenaline rush start at 2:24 - he totally murders it!!! Utter insanity, and utterly underrated..

It's a Godin, they're made in Canada. It's an electric-acoustic, the only pickup is a piezo under the saddle, that's why you can't see anything. Those black slots in the upper bout are control sliders. It's built like a solid-body guitar, with maybe some chambers routed out inside.

Oh, thanks for the clarification! That sucker looks like a Gibson to me, don't know much about Godin, or electric-acoustics, I always owned Kramers and Strats.

Here is some more perfected plagiarism. Don't remember who the original artist was, maybe, you can help me out here too... I believe it was one them old Delta Blues guitarists????

Led Zeppelin - In My Time Of Dying - YouTube

this gives me wood everytime i watch it (doesn't start to get tricky until about the one minute mark, but after that it's just friggin' cooooooooool...oh to have large hands and long skinny fingers...oh and a little talent too :lmao: )...

We got a hipster

There is a lot of stuff that I don't like but I don't bother letting everyone know how much I don't like their music.

I don't listen to this stuff either, but telling someone that something they like sucks is incredibly rude, imo. Not liking something does not make you unique. I'll never understand certain people.

this is the nice and mature thing to do for sure.
still doesn't change the fact that van halen and his brothers and sisters bon jovi and poison suck completely and entirely.
