I ran accutane 5 years ago and was pretty impressed- my acne cleared up good, only side was dry lips and skin........... I started a cycle of it 10 days ago and man-o-man has it ever flared up more on my shoulders! I cant recall it doing this in the past, but also have a bad memory so maybe it did. I know that while takin accutane, the body may flare up @ the start, but please brothers for how long? I gotta new chicky on the go and im fckin timid to take my damn shirt off. Hurry the hell up accutane!

So i guess im just wondering, how much longer will it be worse before it gets better??

Should be dying off after the 3rd or 4th week and steadily clearing up from there. How many mgs you taking?

I have a 5 month supply @ 40mg a day. sound good? I hear alot of ppl running 40mg the first month then bumping it up to 80mg for the rest. However, my acne is not that bad and think 40 will do the trick. Just get it on the upper back and on the shoulders.

I have just finished off at 80mgs per day, it took 6 months and I havent got one spot anywhere. Dry eyes, nose and lips, but no one can see those.

My derm says no less than 80mg for 5 months otherwise it will flare up again upon stopping the drug.

i'm not taking it but my derm said if he was to put me on it he was run it at 80mg straight through for 5 months. I asked him if 40mg would be effective and he said it may clear it up but when you stop the acne will come back fast.

Interesting..... killing my buzz vascular! I wonder why running it at 80 would "cure" acne (this is what i gathered from vasculars reply). I thought accutane reduces the amount of oil realesed from the glands and after stoping use, would build back up.

Any others have input on this??

I started at 20mg for 1 week then 40,60 then held it at 80. At 80mgs per day mine flared up even worse, it was only when I went over the 4/5month period that it started to clear up. Any new spots went very quickly as though they were being sucked dry fromthe inside. I was only left with red marks, now not one spot. 5/6 months. Sides very dry nose, very bright red dry eyes. If I need to do it again I will do it through the winter as explaining bright red eyes in the summer is worse. I should have lowered the dose gradually as I felt like shit, no energy etc. So if there has to be a next time I will taper back down. I am going to use 20mgs every 4 to 5 days, thats what alot of the guys are doing now, to keep the glands closed or whatever.

I'm pretty sure that what it does is kill off the glands which produce seebum (probably spelt wrong). One course hardly ever cures it completely but a 2nd course is SUPPOSED to do it.

Hey bud, had to clear up a few thingers.

Im just over two weeks in and the acne on my shoulder is drying up alot. Can still see alot of it but I can tell its starting to take effect. New acne does appear in weird places......Like i got a few big ones near my nose and mouth..a little painful, but they seem to clear up when popped faster than normal. The absolute worst effect so far is dryness of lips, nose (a few nose bleeds; however, i do get them in the winter) and my face drys up a ton after shaving in the morning!!!!!! I swear, last week i had to apply lotion to my face every 5-10 mins for an hour before i left the house. My tip to you is shave at night!!, carry small lotion packs and chap lip always. But you may not dry out as hardcore as me. And thats the 2 week update, diffenetly let you know how it comes along the way.....have you started yet???

Been off now for 3 weeks, 2 new spots in that time, gone quickly though and they were not in the place that I usually get them either. I am however taking 20/40mgs once every 4/5 days to keep the glands closed down.

Im running test @ 250 right now, will be starting cyc in April. Do you usually get acne when the gear kicks in? I usually get it when i come off into PCT. What doses are you running?

Only have ran on cycle before...it was sust 250 @ 500 mg week for 15 weeks, this ended around end of nov/begin of december started getting the acne about 12 weeks into it and it hasnt stopped yet.

the cycle i just started running test cyp @ 600 mg week and eq at 600 mg week, each to run from 14-18 weeks, depending on if I am still gaining. I'll run winny at 25 mg daily the last 6 weeks of the cycle.

im not sure why im still getting the bacne, the shit should be outta my system but its still coming....its not awful, but its bad enuf.

From what I have read the tren should really kick ass when added to that cycle....its alot like mine, without the tren of course. I just dont think I'm ready to jump on that hardcore shit yet
