Well I ended up getting out of some of that by paying off a 5 year loan in 29 months.

Buy new if you can afford to pay off and trade in whenever the warranty's up. Buy used if not, or you don't like spending that much money on something that loses its value so fast.

That's the reason. I'll pay the car off in less than a year, trade it in and get another one. It's still under warranty.

If you trade in a year you're gonna take a huge hit in the pocket. You won't have driven it enough to absorb any of the depreciation.
