Used car advice

Every car lot in my experience has one of those 4 banger 5 speed rice runners
at one time or another.

Bro needs to make the rounds or tell them to call him when they get one in and he will buy it likely.

Just stay away from any with 34 custom parts stickers plastered on it or a fart can exhaust.

Do you have a car now? If not, how do you get to work when it's sometimes hours away? I'd wait a while til I found something better than either of those. The Caddy is old and will need maintenance soon, which will be pricey. The Neon probably has a measly four banger in it which will not meet your expectations you listed above. Oddly enough, either one would be about as good as the other, just in different ways. Find out how much money you'll have first, and find a reputable place to buy from. The places that will sell to anyone regardless of their credit will fuck you in the ass down the road most likely because that's all they have going for them to draw people in. They'll either sell you something that looks nice but was actually used and abused, or turn around and inflate your interest rate so high that by the time you pay it off you'll have payed double what the car was worth. I would never go to one of those places that advertises all that bs like "Lowest interest rate blowout!" or "No matter what your credit is or even if you have none we'll accept you!" Imo that'd be asking for trouble.

Good luck.

dont have the vin's,but im also looking at a grand am they have their 2002 se1 with the 3.4 so its better then the 4, my pops has a grand am gt which I know is a nice car so I might go with that, downfall is its white, but im not worried I just need something reliable. right now ive been using company rentals but when we are on jobs we get stuck at hotels with sometimes one car between 20 guys on big jobs and cant get groceries or go anywhere so I want to have my own to bring with me.

as for a cosigner,I dont want to get anyone else involved,I kinda want to do this on my own.

Im in the market to buy a car,ive got bad credit and found a place to finance me, options are kinda limited but ive narrowed it down to a 96 cadillac sts anf a 2000 neon le ,they are definatly in different classes thats for sure and im leaning towards the caddy even though its older, but im curious to know your opinions on each. ive read reviews but I feel some are biased and I know we have some real car guys here who wont dick me around.

both are pieces of shit, try to find a good used japanese car

Did you apply for credit at a few places? Honda, GM, Toyota etc...

Some dealerships will find ways to get you approved, there are ways around it. Cash down, Security deposit, even pay stubs may do.

Are you currently a student, or have you graduated in the past two years? I know GMAC (finance company for GM, Pontiac, Chev, Ford etc…) will sometimes overlook bad credit (if it isn’t too bad) & give you $1000 off the vehicle, or pay your first two payments.

What about getting a loan/line of credit through your bank? I’m sure the interest rate would be lower then what you would pay if you got the lien from a company that deals with high risk/bad credit clients.

if you want reliability, then go japanese Toyota or Honda...corolla or civic to get you where you need to and not break down !
