Nav,
It's actually a 6200 square foot riverfront castle, and a Pepsi Twist. Also there is a wings place a mile away, so you may see me on the sundeck with some wings. But I digress.
Certainly white American males have more opportunity than anyone else in the world. I don't think that is pertinent to your points.
I still don't see where you are going with this.
Life for a Palestinian kid must be pretty shitty. I think you should say "Israeli" instead of 'jewish", because Jews are not confined to Israel, and not all Israelis are jews. So Jewish is a little bit misleading.
In order to make this a meaningful discussion, we have to get at the "why", not just acknowledge certain facts. If you just want to say "group A is better off than group B", how would you like to be Somali or an Untouchable in India?
Anyway: I give Israel a lot of credit for providing these opportunities for their despite the neighbors. The neighbors, after all, are the ones who have invaded numerous times, always repelled and defeated by Israeli forces. Americans never intervened to help Israel in any war. But you never here CNN (or anyone) talk about how Israel perseveres, has a relatively strong economy without oil, creates breakthrough technology for our military (they are leaders in optic/laser technology),or any of that.
As to Palestinians:
When the Palestinians turned to their eighbors, they were killed wholesale. When they turned to Jordan's King Hussein, and said "give us land for a state". he slaughtered 30,000 of them. when Palestinains appraoched Syria, President Hafez Assad treated them the exact same way. So much for the Islamic brotherhood etc.
This is nothing you would ever see on CNN.
Show me another Middle Eastern nation with comparable human rights or economic strength to Israel. These rights that their citizens have are the bedrock on which the opportunities are built. In contrast, Saudi Arabia has more oil than anywhere else, and they have one of the weakest economies and highest unemployments in the area. That's how things go in opperssive religious monarchies.
The bottom line is, Israel is a democracy with a respect for human life and opportunity. It so happens that the jewish religion values learning and education: check out the list of jewish Nobel prize winners sometime. Surrounding countries are dictatorships or theocracies that care little for anything other than their own power. The divergent paths of Arab/Muslim nations and Israel is the proof of the differeing ideologies.
