Upper cartlidge piercing

both of my cartlidges are pierced in my ears, one has been pierced for a few years and the other one has been pierced for a few months.....my question is.......why is it so sensitive? I was brushing my hair this morning and pulled an earring OUT and when i tried putting it back in, i almost passed out...i guess I have a low tolerance for pain or something..but eventually i got it back in.....but its sore as heck.......
I am just curious as to why its so sensitive

I had mine yanked out by my motorcycle helmet once. It didn't completely tear through, but it was larger than the original size. It stung pretty good, although I wouldn't say it was painful. Then again, I had just crashed into a tree so my adrenaline was up.

I've had mine pierced on my right ear for about 7 years and it has been fine since it healed. It did take a good 6-12 months to finally be able to sleep on that side though! My hairdresser grabbed it with his comb once...I think it hurt him more than me!!! I thought he was gonna be sick when he realized it was my ear not my hair tangled in the comb!

I had mine done about 8 yrs ago. What a BIOOTTCHHH. It hurt more than the ol' belly ring. I also spent 6 months sleeping on one side of my head. It probably is more sensitive & takes longer to heal because it is cartilage. (LOL that is NOT the medically informed answer ...)

It'll always be considerably more tender than the lobe. The top of my left has had two in it for 5 years and I still have to be go a little easy around that area when I'm shampooing.

i have alot of peircings and the only one that didnt feel good was the upper cartilidge on my right ear. my nipples getting peirced didnt feel that uncomfortable, eventually i had to take it out. my lebret peircing was totally painless, i didnt realize she was finished with it, until she pulled my shirt up to do my nipples.

I'm glad I read this thread. My g/f and I went out last Tues. night and I wanted to get my ear cartlidge pierced...2 holes along the top with a bar running across. The place where I go to was closed though so I didn't get it done. If I had to sleep on one side for months on end I'd wind up with a sore neck so I'm not gonna get this done.

As we were leaving we stopped in at a tattoo place though. I now have 3 pretty butterflies across my upper back just below the ends of my hair.

Yes when I tried to do my upper cartlidge piercing, it hurt like crap when I tried to sleep on it. And it brought tears to my eyes.

Even when I did my nose it didn't hurt that much!

Did you actually get your clit pierced? OMG I would faint! I had my hood done and that wasn't bad at all.

I didn't keep it long enough to find out about the sex part. The healing process was way too uncomfortable. The friend who talked me into it claims that it has improved her level of pleasure. I've decided I'm going to take her word for it on that one.

It doesn't really change how sex feels, at first it felt very erotic to have a piece of jewelry there though. I have a verticle piercing and the best part is when I'm getting oral, hubby can easilly hold my hood away from my clit for some FANTASTIC access, licking and sucking on my clit never felt so good! Also, during intercourse, when I rub my clit I guess the barbell just adds a little extra stimulation that feels subtly wonderful. I've had mine done for well over a year now and never had a problem.

When you get the hood pierced it's not very painfu because the skin is super thin...thin like your eyelid. It doesn't bleed and we even had sex that night. Odly enough, when you pee it helps cleanse and heal the piercing so within a week I was completely healed. Only downside was when I first used a vibrator on it...it hurt! You have to either get to your clit from the underside or hold the jewelry up out of the way because the skin will get pinched between the barbell and the vibe.
