Upcoming Strongman Contests?

Does anyone know of any upcoming Strongman Comps in the ILLINOIS, INDIANA, WISCONSIN, MICHIGAN area? ANytime between now and next spring? Or maybe someone has a link to upcoming events?

my boyfriend has competed in the Midwest Muscle Classic in April 2002 in Wausau, Wisconsin (not a sanctioned event) and is looking for another contest to compete in. We live near Chicago.

Any help would be appreciated

Question - in order to compete in a Gold level competition, so you need to QUALIFY by winning a lower-level meet? (i read the level descriptions but still not sure about this one)

No, there isn't any type of prequalification for Gold Level Competitions. Anyone can compete.

you can also go to www.nastrongman.com and click on anvil board..on there...theres someone who puts one on in upper illinois this fall and in the spring.

kingc - thanks for the info...my boyfriend is doing a comp in October and then another one in december possily. he is very excited! i'm still trying to get him on this board so he can get info that would help his training

This is definately the board for it.

Tell him there are Pro Strongmen and Elite Level Powerlifters that are on this board daily. Too many resources of knowledge and information here to miss out on.

JOKER - you are so right! i have been trying to pass on the info to him and i have even showed him some of the vids i haver downloaded from this forum but he definitely needs to make his way to this board!
