Uninsured deaths! Yay!

I yearn for the day when the government can protect me in more ways. I need supervision on my diet, drug choices, exercise, sleep behavior, relaxation techniques and nutritional supplementation.

To give me any less would be downright barbaric.

You need freedom of choice. What happened to you? He has the right to die in any way he wants. Some may not agree, but that's his choice, no?

It's hard to defend a position when someone dies from it, but I think that's more reason to push on. Yes, there is good with bad but the position is still sound.

I think of it this way, would you be praying to god when your time comes? If you do, then I don't know you anymore.

Plunkey will be buried in his 5-axis processor so he can "take it with him"

Where were the charities?

Barry's new proposal eliminates charity tax deductions for the wealthy...

This is my continuum of efficiency as a consultant...

Free Market
Charities
Local Government
State Government
Federal Government

I make my living on this shit....

Where are all the jobs Barry promised...I agree with Newt that he is the welfare president...not racist...Keynesian economics needs to be buried.

Where are all the jobs promised by lowering the tax rate? Where's all that trickle-down?

The funny thing is that Friedrich Hayek, the father of libertarianism, even says that government should provide society with insurance protection and a few other forms of a "social safety net."

Not only from a compassion standpoint, but economically it makes more sense than not.

It's trickling down just find -- albeit not in the US.

It's weird... when you threaten and vilify the deployers of capital, they have this weird reaction and deploy that capital elsewhere. Who would have thunk it???

Threaten and vilify them by giving them exactly what they want? Our present tax rate would be Reagan and Stockman's wet dream.

They are getting exactly what they want -- it's just not here in the US.

I'm sure it's comforting to convince yourself that the "rich" get a free ride but when it's time for them to make bets, an increasing number of those bets are being made elsewhere.

First of all don't put words in my mouth, I didn't say they're getting a free ride, just that they've got about the best deal they've ever had. Give 'em an inch and they'll take a mile though, they can't be satisfied. They won't be happy until they've got a free ride.

As for jobs and investments going overseas, there's no way we're ever going to be able to compete with people who will work for 1/10th of a US wage or less. Maybe that's why they're trying to eliminate the middle class?

1) If you truly believe the "rich" won't be happy until they have a free ride, then you have two choices: A) Give them the free ride and retain them or B) Deny them the free ride and lose them along with their capital. If you choose (B), you may be right on principle, but principles don't mean much with 20%, 30% or even 40% unemployment rates. We can't all make a living by serving McDonald's hamburgers to each other.

2) We don't have to compete with overseas labor on a dollar-for-dollar rate. There are plenty of advantages to manufacturing in the US -- we just need to maintain a livable gap. Instead, our government tips the scales overwhelmingly toward foreign labor. It's US labor policy at its finest.

3) Why would "the rich" ever try to eliminate the middle class? Even if they were sinister like you firmly believe, why would the rich kill off their source of income? There aren't enough rich people to run most businesses, unless you're selling Tiffany diamonds or Yachts.

The rich run this country, period. If you try to punish them it wont work.

Giving in to terrorists will just result in more demands.

Equating the job creators with terrorists is indicative of the underlying problem we have.

Go ahead, stay the course. Keep driving them out of the US (or at least drive their profits out of the US) and let's see how those entitlements work out for you. Based on your age, this should be interesting to watch unfold.

You have to do more than lower taxes. Labor is a supply and demand commodity. It's too expensive and risky to hire employees due to forced benefits and regulations.

Equating anyone to 'terrorists' is bad.

This includes PETA, the Tea Party, and others.

On the plus side, well, we aren't calling them Nazis.

What would you call corporations sitting on a cash horde of 1.4 trillion dollars? They're not job creators, they're holding the economy hostage.

How dare those people do what they want with their own property!

Do you realize how insane complaining about that sounds?

Barry has created more uncertainty than there's ever been. We're nervous over higher taxes, a disastrous health care bill, union payoffs, more EPA regulation, more FDA regulation, more financial regulation -- of course we're going to sit on cash.

But fear not; some of that cash will eventually be deployed. Let these taxes and regulations kick in, and those big evil corporations will be snapping-up the little guys who couldn't survive the regulation. Then we'll merge them, outsource their labor and raise prices. That is what you want from all this rhetoric, isn't it?

Go Barry go!

Well, job growth was positive throughout the Shrub admin but anemic until the end when there was a reckoning for government central planning that collapsed the housing market...While the Reagan tax cuts created a shitload of jobs and increased revenue that was absorbed by the military industrial complex to propagate the system...I'm no fan of the Reagan presidency, his interventions or the Dem congress that increased spending.

The current depression was created by the baby boomers and their offspring's entitlement syndrome that was started under FDR and expanded under Johnson. While demographics and technology destroyed the entitlement assumptions they continued to exist in their current form as law....The government always has your back no matter what..Eventually, the government runs out of other people's money...There is no free ride in life...
