Unexpected expenses.......

HumorMe

New member
In the last six months I have had to replace:

2 Gas water heaters in my house (we have always had 2)
Washer
Dryer
2 Outside air conditioner units
Dishwasher
Riding Lawn Mower (Finally got my John Deere...hehe)
Air conditioner in my Suburban
Practically all of the plumbing under the house
New sofa thanks to the pets and kids
Printer for the computer

Those are the big ticket items but there are numerous smaller things I have had to replace.

What are yours?

Sell one of your kids to offset the damage they did. The others will see that and never damage anything else again.

Hmm, nothing big really.

Some clothing 300$
Some videos 100$
Some cd's 100$

im really not a big spender. and i aint got stuff that can break.

Thought about it but the wife wasn't too happy with that!

My dad always told me to buy the cheap stuff and let the kids destroy it and then buy the good stuff when they know better. Didn't listen to him at all. I don't think they know better until they have a place of their own....and that's going to be years from now.

You should have told the wife to get her ass down by the river to wash those clothes! Have her hang them on a clothes line after she's done....

Us: Hubby bought new wheels and car parts for his '57 Chevy $2500.00 (asswipe)

I just did, and I am very happy with my list.

New Sofa (My kids have already destroyed the old one) LOL!!!!

Bought one of those nice italian leather over stuffed things, I bet it doesn't last 2 years.

The last pricey surprise I had was getting Hali the ferret surgery last July. She had an adrenal gland taken out and it was $700. She's doing great now and has grown all of her hair back. Hopefully nothing major happens with bills any time soon or I may be forced to sell a kidney on ebay....

I hope the ferrett is alright now.

Hmmmm....a kidney huh.....got anything else you might want to sell? :lmao::p

I bought a 30 year old house this spring and have had to buy
lighting/electrician - $3000
microwave 300
stove 600
regrigerator 1000
moving expenses 2000
drapes/bedspread/pillows 2000
I would love to have a decorator's help picking colors, but they get their fee when I buy furniture, and I don't need that yet.

Next I need to excavate the back yard, pour concrete patio,
cover with tile, purchase/install hot tub
but it's getting awfully hot to do that work now.
I'll probably concentrate instead on getting artwork framed during the hot months
and put off the hot tub till fall.

I posted a couple of weeks ago about some freakshow who kept calling my office and asking me if he could discreetly purchase my worn stockings/heeled shoes. I firmly declined. I wonder if I could make money selling those. Lord knows I have a ton of them. :lmao:

I hear you John.

The only problem I see with your purchases is that they all probably wear out at the same time like mine did. Owning a home is no cakewalk.

My house is over 100 hundred years old and it is always something. My Father-in-law told me before I bought this house that the only way to heat this house is to burn it! I enjoy fixing things and making this place look better and I have been in this house for 15 years but every now and then I would like to have a brand new house but our location is unbeatable in my town so I guess I will hang on to it!

I'm so embarassed that I actually asked you for those things. I'm sorry but I'm still interested.;)

I'll forgive it this time but next time don't keep calling over and over again asking if I'm sure that I won't sell them to you. ;)

How much money was he offering?

Do you think he would be interested in worn socks and work boots?:D :D

It must be nice to have a new car Newbie. I would really love to get one but mine is paid for and having a car payment isn't on my list of things I need right now.
