unexpected big gains ....

ok i am exactly 4 weeks into my "slow and lean gains" cycle but I seeing something unexpected ... I am 40y.o. now 220lb 6.2, 13%bf

cycle
week 1: primo 800mg (some preload)
week 2: primo 600mg
week 3 and on: primo 600mg, Mast 500mg, Test E 300mg, Tbol 50mg/day

forma at 6 pumps am and 6 pumps pm

so I am at the end of week 4 and I am exactly 22lb up. there were barely any gains week 1 and 2.
my previous cycles of test 500 or 700mg with tbol at 40mg I would gain 20lb in 8-10 weeks. but now I am 22lb in just 4 weeks. I am a bit more liberal with my carbs but everything else is the same as before. My gear is from a different source though.

Must be water - from what though ...
may be I should try adex to see if I drop the water....
your thought guys
 
If can't tell is water weight very easy and the stuff your running shouldn't add that much water weight. Guess your reacting good to the gear..

water shouldn't be an issue on that cycle but if you want to add some form in there it won't hurt
 
so you were skinny before the cycle. 6 2 and 198 isn't massive at all for a bodybuilder .. i know guys 6 feet tall who are 195 who have lean muscle and do crossfit type workouts.

so all that is happening is you are catching up to your potential.. had you started the cycle at 220 instead of 198 then you would not be having a 22 pound gain.

its like the example i use of the guy who benches 100 pounds.. goes on dbol.. and adds 50 pounds to his bench. then brags to his friends that he added 50% to his bench in 4 weeks. then his friends run out and buy dbol and do the same thing. when all along they could have just worked out for 4 weeks and had just as good results. not saying you are this example I am just giving one. you seem to be in good shape atleast before cycle although at 6 2 you could of naturally gotten to 220 i feel
 
it can easily be water and nutrient loading. a good amount might be muscle from playing 'catch up' like steve said as well.

I also hate to bring it up but I hope the primo is legit .. again even legit primo can do that too you ..

Yeah I was going to say maybe the primo really isn't primo. 800mg frontload and 600mg for an additional 2 weeks could get you bloated up pretty good with high carbs/sodium.
 
I had my doubts on the tbol .. I thought may be it is actually dbol...
primo often gets faked by putting EQ or low dose of tren instead - so I thought that that at primo was not the culprit.
i'll try adding adex today see how this works
 
I agree with steve.. You were too small to begin with (6'2 198 is a basketball player) and now you are taking 1500mg of juice a week.. Im not pointing fingers at you but im sick of dudes who are not willing to put in the work and just take the easy way out by taking as much shit as they can get their hands on.. There are dudes at my gym who are 6'2 200lb very lean and they are pretty damn small and they dont even take supp let alone taking 1.5g of juice..
You could very easily get to 230 in a year and half with hard work, then if you juiced at 230 you would be a monster at 240 shredded.. Putting your health at risk just to get bigger stronger faster than normal is pretty dumb, might as well smoke some crack while you're at it..

Steve , I am certain I could have gotten to 220 naturally. It takes longer when you are 40 than when you are 20 though. And time is running out. Also when you are 40 you tend to pick up more fat if you eat to grow. Fat is the last thing I want to gain. Now I gotta grow some more and then do my best to make these gains stick.

yeah i am not criticizing you at all. i am giving you one of the scenarios to why you gained so much, without seeing pics before and after its hard to give a definate answer, we can only speculate :)

now from 220, it won't be so easy to gain 22 pounds from here cleanly.
 
Why is that so unexpected? That's twice as much gear as I've ever done in a single cycle in my life!
 
A good cycle for me these days is to keep 10 lbs bcos im much closer to my gentic pitential

Steve, I did not take that as a criticism at all. It was more of an exchange of opinions, and I do appreciate yours ... and I do now what you are saying, still I am quite surprised that I gained so much. Did not happen before.
and yeah ... I realize that it will be a bigger struggle to get to 240lb at 10% bf which is my ultimate goal and then go to maintenance mode.

well, if I did tren, deca, test, beast/dbol - than yeah - I can see being up 22 lb in 4 weeks. I am on 300mg of test a week - which is just over maintenance. Mast and primo are both slow lean gains type of compounds, as well as tbol. that's why I started looking for answers. May be you guys are right and I should not be surprised.
yet still - mast, primo and tbol are not your bulker compounds though .....
 
You can bulk on any compound your diet dictates your gains, of course some compounds r better then others

Also you're making excuse of your age , sure its harder to get result the older you get, but there is this dude at my gym hes 44 never juiced before, hes 242 at 5'9 sure hes not that ripped but hes a big bulky fuker, dealift 575 no strap no belt nothing and he held the weight up for 30 second, hes a beast and hes 4 years older than you.. Age doesnt mean shit, actually you are at your peak strength at 35-40 than being young..

Sorry if this was off topic, I promise i wasnt tryin be an ass in my other post.... Just giving you a heads up that you're not 80y/o..
 
Man! i'm 60 and i don't even run that much gear, there comes to a point where the receptors become saturated,the body can only do so much!

Train Smart ,not crazy! Food is the most anabolic compound you can put in your body!
