understanding Tiratricol

New member
In my quest for knowledge I've found a lot of bad publicity on Tiratricol. I'm trying to gauge its benefits and see if its something I would benefit from.

Fact:
Tiratricol alters thyroid function tests, including: TSH, T4 and T3.
So I've decided to get my thyroid levels checked before starting it.

Looking for help in determining where T-3 fits into this cyc:
Test-Enth - 500mg/wk
Oxandrolone -30mg/ed
Mesterolone -50mg/ed
Stanozolol -50mg/day

Body type is Mesomorph:

Anyone input on T-3 and recommended dosages?

Do not use T-2, Tiratricol. It is great at suppressing TSH and take a long time to recover from it. It is used to reduce the size of the thyroid gland in patients with thyroid cancer. Here's a brief statement from a study on it:

"Tiratricol is not a metabolic accelerator nor a fat-loss aid. Rather, it is a potent drug which is capable of inducing severe thyroid abnormalities in athletes who use it. There is a tremendous amount of hype surrounding tiratricol, with ads for the compound suggesting that the product burns incredible amounts of fat and produces dramatic improvements in muscle definition. However, the reality is that tiratricol supplementation should be avoided by all athletes."

Tiratricol shut my thyroid down hard a few years ago.Took about a year to get it back up to speed(normal TSH output).Don't think I will mess with any thyroidals again unless it's lifelong therapy(prescription).

yea, thats the kind of stuff I've been reading as well. But the pamphlet says
"Tiratricol is a rapidly metabolised form of the T-3 hormone." and it did come from a perscription, not for me of course.

T-3 converts into T-4 naturally. But a high presence of either shuts down the homeostatic feedback loop(natural output).

what would be a high presence? dosage/day

Wrong. T4 converts to T3. Ihulk is talking about T2, not T3.

For a T3 dosage start off at 25 mcgs/day and increase by one tab a day every fourth day until one has reached the desired dosage usually around 75-100 mcgs/day. Taper off slowly decreasing by one tab a week.

I took a product called sytranx triax ack in 2000 before they banned tiratricol in the states. I lost a sh1t load of weight. I had bloodwork done and my thyroid was normal. That was my experience.

Tiratricol is a naturally occurring metabolite of the endogenous thyroid hormone triodothyronine (T-3). The medical use for thyroid preparations is for the treatment of thyroid dysfunction and obesity.
