Underdosing protein powder

I just got an email from a supplement company saying they tested IDS product protein powder and it dosed at 6g instead of 23 as stated. I have a feeling that this isnt the only company that's underdosing their shit. It would be nice if there was someone who could test these protein powders and expose the companies. IDS is out of florida, they're just a distributor I think.

Does anyone know a lab that can test protein powder?

LOL 6grams....You need to buy some namebrand stuff. Opt. Nutrition 100%

I've often wondered about this, how accurate is the content of protien in protien suppliments. I don't think anyone has tested products right off the shelf? so who knows...

Dunno bro. I stick with optimum nutrition 10lb bags. Works fine for me and I can't beat the price. Protein factory I liked too but always wondered if their protein was as quality as optimum, and the small price difference didn't make it worth my while to guess.

you'd need a bomb calorimeter to test that I think.

I am curious about this too...6 grams is ludicrous.

was the email from a competitor of IDS?

Mmm... bomb calorimeters. Used one last week, I have to say, I like the name a lot more than the actual apparatus :) And I agree, 6g's instead of 23 sounds a little TOO underdosed. 18-19 instead of 23 I could understand, but 6? That's barely over 25% of label claims, that test has got to be flawed in some way.

I really like protein factory. I get the proteins I want and nothing else. Optimum has a lot of inferior proteins all mixed in together. Its even got a lot of lactose. Hence the reason why they put lactase enzymes in it. Protein Factory proteins to me taste damn good because I can customize it the way I want. All other proteins on the market are either too thick, give me gas, taste nasty after a while.
