TWO Questions: Morning Cardio and Sugar Substitutes

jcregs

New member
1) I can't make up my mind and need a definitive answer: should I be doing morning cardio on empty stomach or morning cardio w/ a protein shake before (to supposedly save muscle and burn fat)?

2) I use a LOT of sugar substitutues (Splenda, Equal) during the day (for coffee, oatmeal, etc...usually 15-20 packets in a typical day). How bad will that affect me (e.g. how many carbs, will it slow fat loss, etc.)?

Thanks

Many say -Do empty stomach cardio for best results, some say drink a shake before cardio to prevent catabolism ....Me personally i started incorperating a protein shake before my morning lifts and 10min cardio session so i wont kill muscle.....its a risk you have to take

their is a post about sugar substitutes on the supplement board..here is the link

If you have a lot of fat to lose, do it on an empty stomach.

Sweeteners are generally harmless. However I've never met anyone who took in quite that much. I'd say that as long as you're not noticing any adverse effects, don't worry about it.

1] on an empty stomach
if you are afraid of catabolism you can take L-Glutramine and BCAAs

2]it is OK

Well right now I'm cutting (i'm 5'11, about 193-194 lbs.), just want to get the body fat down a little before spring break next month...should i still be doing morning cardio or should i just do a little after lifting later in the day? (i do 35-40 minutes, keeping intensity medium to high, usually burning bewteen 500 and 750 calories- or so the machines says...i usually do cardio 5-6 days a week, keeping diet relatively low in carbs, high in protein, moderate fat)

having so much equal can be bad if you are watching your carb intake..the tablets dont have carbs but the packets do..so maybe cut down a little. U shouldnt be drinking coffee in the day neway...if you are drinking to increase you energy, then you are not eating correctly.
have a look at your diet, eat more frequently to increase energy levels.

o and ive always done morning cardio and cardio after weights...just makes sense
