TTokkyo problems!?

So watching the news last night and they had news about a large ketamine bust. They described a large bust and some Mexican guys and said they were working out of a lab. "Uhh oh thats the TTokkyo plant they are showing...some guys are going to be bummed about that. No medicines for the puppies." Apparently the feds made a big 'club drug' bust in in Miami a few years ago and their continuing investigation led them to TTokkyo and the Mexicans. These guys are being extradicted to the US as well. Not sure what impact this will have on TTokkyo products and their availability, but thought this might be of some interest to readers of this board.

KETAMINE SMUGGLING RING IS BROKEN UP

Tijuana veterinary supply firm is involved, say officials
By Marisa Taylor and Sandra Dibble STAFF WRITERS

Thousands of vials filled with a veterinary anesthetic known in dance clubs as "Special K" flowed from a Mexican manufacturing company into the hands of U.S. drug users from San Diego to New York, authorities said yesterday.

A smuggling ring, which included a Mexican veterinarian and the owner of a Tijuana veterinary supply company, became North America's largest producer and supplier of the drug, U.S. and Mexican officials said at a news conference.

During their two-year investigation, federal agents seized thousands of vials - including a shipment discovered in a moving van, coming from San Diego, that was stopped in Kansas.

The investigation began in Simi Valley.

Police had received a tip that ketamine and steroids were being sold at gyms. Authorities then traced the ketamine shipments back to U.S. dealers and the Mexican suppliers. So far, seven men have been arrested. Three others remain at large.

The manufacturing company, outside Mexico City in the state of Morelos, was licensed to order raw materials from China to make ketamine.

But Drug Enforcement Administration officials said the company, Ttokkyo, shipped vials to the Tijuana-based supply company Granero de Oro, where it was then sent illegally to drug dealers in San Diego, San Bernardino, San Francisco, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia and Boston.

Authorities in Panama arrested veterinarian Jose Francisco Molina, owner of Ttokkyo, and Tijuana business owner Jorge Chevreuil Bravo last month and turned them over to U.S. authorities.

Both men pleaded not guilty to drug conspiracy charges in Miami and were expected to be transported to San Diego soon.

Despite the arrests, two of Chevreuil's veterinary supply stores in Tijuana remained open for business. Manager Adolfo Rodas described Chevreuil as honest and hardworking. "Everything that he's achieved has been through legal means," he said.

The business was founded about 40 years ago by his father, Jorge Chevreuil Gonzalez, who is now overseeing the stores, Rodas said.

Rodas insisted that the company was selling the product legally, over the counter, to anyone, including U.S. customers. Unlike in the United States, the product is commonly sold without a prescription.

"I can sell it to whoever comes in," said Rodas. "I am not a policeman to be asking them, `What do you want that for?' If people want to use it as a drug, that's their business."

In Mexico, ketamine can be bought in pharmacies for $12 to $20 per 10 milliliter vial, which can be cooked down to about 10 doses, authorities said.

In the United States, the price jumps to $100 a vial. Drug users have experimented with ketamine since the 1970s to feel the "near-death experience" of the anesthetic, said Glen Stanley, a Los Angeles County sheriffs detective who teaches other officers about club drugs.

In the 1990s, the anesthetic became increasingly popular in San Diego and other cities as a club drug that can be "cooked" into a dry powder and snorted, or injected in its liquid form.

In high doses, it can be used as a date rape drug.

The drug, which can be legitimately used as an anesthetic for cats and dogs, became a controlled substance in 1999.

But ketamine's reputation as a harder drug has made it less popular than other club drugs such as Ecstasy.

Erin Rose, who used ketamine with her boyfriend when she was 18, suffered brain damage after her heart stopped. She emerged from a coma weeks later.
"This drug ruined my life," Rose, now 19, said at the news conference. Her mother had to drive her from their home in Laguna Niguel.

"I may never drive again. I may never have a job again. I may never live alone," Rose said.

Isn't ketamine completely legal to sell in mexico? I thought it was so, screw the guys trying to bust the vets and the ttokkyo owner. Thats's bullshit, they sold the drug in mexico where it is legal so the hell with the U.S trying to "round" these guys up...

Large `Club Drug' Ring Busted
By BEN FOX
Associated Press Writer

SAN DIEGO (AP) - U.S. and Mexican authorities said Wednesday they have dismantled North America's largest illegal producer and distributor of ketamine, a veterinary anesthetic that has become a popular and dangerous drug on the club circuit.

In raids in both countries and Panama, seven men were arrested and authorities said they made the largest seizure ever of ketamine, which is often referred to as Super K or Special K.

The ring manufactured ketamine at a lab in the central Mexican state of Morelos, advertised the drug on the Internet and smuggled it into the United States, distributing tens of thousands of vials in liquid form each month, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy Coughlin.

"This is a big business," Coughlin said at a news conference to announce the indictment of 10 alleged members of the network.

The network is believed to be responsible for distributing 70 to 80 percent of the ketamine used illegally the United States, said Don Thornhill, a Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman.

Two alleged ringleaders were arrested in Panama and transported to Miami on Sept. 17. Jorge Chevreuil Bravo of Tijuana, Mexico, and Dr. Jose Francisco Molina of Mexico City were arraigned on conspiracy and other charges earlier this week.

Both men pleaded innocent and were ordered held without bail. They were to be transported to San Diego.

Chevreuil was also charged with operating a continuing criminal enterprise. He could face life in prison if convicted on that count.

Three of the 10 indicted men remain at large. Authorities believe two have fled to Mexico.

As part of the two-year investigation, authorities made arrests and served search warrants in New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Boston and San Diego.

Authorities in Tijuana made the largest seizure ever of ketamine, confiscating nearly 200,000 vials from a veterinary office in the border city, according to the Mexican attorney general's office.

The investigation began in Simi Valley when police began looking into reports that steroids and ketamine were being sold at health clubs.

Ketamine, a controlled substance in the United States since 1999, is typically distributed as a liquid in 10-milliliter bottles with a street value of about $100 each, according to the DEA.

The substance is heated to form a powder that can be snorted or smoked. It causes hallucinations similar to the drug PCP. It also has a sedative effect and has been used as a date rape drug.

MX will now make K a controlled sub

MX will now make K a controlled sub. before it wasn't because it was a vet drug. 90% of the K was pulled from the stores in TJ

It is "legal" in Mexico, yes. This is why they were arrested in Panama I'm thinking. I talked to a guy "in the know" this afternoon, and he told me this: "Ttokkyo Labs has been shut down. Their products are still on the shelves of course, but once they are sold off, that will be it for them". Did anyone else notice that QVs Website isn't working?

I did notice that but TT's website is still up. Odd.
This was IMO just a matter of time. Ketamine is their biggest money maker by far and they were supplying most of the shit that is on the streets today.

Zerxes you have some bad info

TTOKKYO is not shut down it was the co-owner of the company that is in trouble not the company. I know this for a fact I know the shop manager who runs 2 shops for Jorge Chevreuil Bravo
who was arrested in Panama. They place orders directly with TTOKKYO every 4-5 days. This all happened Sept 16-17 and they are only having problems receiving K . People are still having no problem outside TJ filling K orders for the States. They are going through Tx, AZ
