Trying To Get Started-----beginner

REMMAN7

New member
I'VE BEEN ON EVERY WEB-SITE, AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. I WENT TO 3 GYMS IN MY AREA TO ONLY BE TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT A MONTH. I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT SOME EQUIPMENT OF MY OWN. I FOUND A 5 DAY ROUTINE, BUT WAS TOLD THAT WAS TOO MUCH SINCE I WAS A BIGINNER. I HEARD A 4 DAY WOULD BE BETTER.

DAY 1-CHEST/SHOULDERS/TRIS
DAY 2-OFF
DAY 3-BACK/BI's/FOREARMS
DAY 4-OFF
DAY 5-CHEST/SHOULDERS/TRIS
DAY 6-OFF
DAY 7- LEGS/BI's/FOREARMS

I'M CONFUSED ON HOW MANY EXERCISES SHOULD BE DONE PER MUSCLE. FOR EXAMPLE IF I'M WORKING BI's, SHOULD I DO 3 OR 4 EXERCISES PER SESSION AS LONG AS THE MOVEMENTS ARE DIFFERENT.

HOW MANY SETS AND REPS?

FOR HOW LONG SHOULD I DO THIS ROUTINE FOR? 12 WEEKS???

I'M EAGER TO GET STARTED SO, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATY APPRECIATED,

Hey, remman. What are your goals? Either way as a beginner, a solid full body workout would do you good. 3x a week full body. The traditional body splits are generally more suited to someone with a bit more experience.

What kind of equipment do you have access to? Are you set on working at home or would you be open to a gym membership?

Get back to me with the information and I either can help you with some information on how to structure your own routine, or if you want a preset routine you may be interested in hiring a personal trainer (like me!) lol. Either way, I'd be happy to help you with some basic information no matter what!

i agree with max gordon beginners do better on a full body routine. split routines are for more advanced trainees try one compound movement per bodypart like bench presses squats deadlifts pull ups or pulldowns. just remember to maintain good form and every workout try to do more reps or increase weight with good form
