Trying to Cut - Please Critique My Supp Plan

Hey Guys,

Here's my plan. Anyone have any advice?

My goal right now is cutting. I'm *way* over on body fat right now and am totally motivated to get everything dialed in. I have about 3.5 months with my girlfriend away to just get my shit together. I am (please don't laugh) 30% BF right now. I had an illness that prevented me from training for a while and I got fat as hell.

I'm still pretty strong and just want to get down to below 10% BF right now before getting big again.

Anyway, here's my plan ....

SUPPS:

1AD 100mg 3xDay
(will do 4 weeks on 4 off and use 6-oxo in the off)

ECA 2xDay
25mg ephedra, 200mg caffeine

CLA
700mg every meal

r-ALA
300mg every meal

Flax Oil
1 tbsp. every morning meal

Creatine
10mg a day during workout with a small amount of carbs

(I know this can add water, but it helps my training and won't make me actually "fat")

Glutamine Powder
5mg 3xDay

DIET:

6 meals a day

pretty much straight up Body for Life style. Balanced carbs and protein 6 meals a day. Ultra low carbs last meal. First meal after workout slightly high carbs to help the nutrients get into my muscles. Also, I take some extra higher quality protein with that meal.

EXERCISE:

4 days on, 1 day off

Days on I do a 4 day split with some rather high intensity lifting for each body part (usually 5 sets starting with 8 reps dropping to 2, and last set is a killer superset).

After lifting every day I do 30-40 minutes of low intensity cardio.

I do this first thing in the morning on a totally empty stomach. Some days I've done a little glutamine and creatine along with or before the workout ...

BIG QUESTION:

Well, I have many, but here's my challenge now. I've heard that low intensity cardio after lifting really burns the fat (since your glycogen is shot you'll hit the fat straight away), but Body for Life says you should do high intensity cardio on days by itself.

My program is a bit more intense than BFL and my body's been handling it (didn't even start 1AD till today, so my body is holding up great), but I want to do what is *optimum* to burn fat. Time and money is no object for me right now.

Thanks!

The only thing that is "optimum" is that you train hard, recover and get results. Until one or more of these 3 ideals aren't being met, shake things up a bit like Train with weights for only 30-40 minutes 4 days a week, 30 seconds or less between sets with much lighter weights obviously. Try running all out for 20-30 seconds, then jogging for 60 seconds when doing hit cardio. You could train with weights 2x a week for 60-90 minutes max working the entire body each session(this frees up more time for cardio and dieting).

Most important though is your diet, you must jugggle your carb intake if you want to get lean.

I don't think you should be considering 1-ad until you have been lifting for a much longer time period and are in the 15% or lower bodyfat range. You are probably putting enough strain on your body already being that overweight.

CLA is bunk. It is a big waste of money.

Have you tried the Hi low Carb Diet by Bill Phillips.. I have used and los about 8 pounds in 14 days, and even manage to move all my weight up. And still doing it. I want to lose about 8 more and be 12% body fat

It consist of eating a low fat, high proteing diet, will "cycling" carbs to keep your metabolism from developing a balance. Is intese, but it works the best. You have to stick to the diet.

If interest let me know

Hi Loths,

You bet. Please tell me more.

Is this the same as a CKD, though?

The "Cyclic Ketogenic Diet" is something the vets around here seem to talk about quite often. It's based on the same principle of cycling your carb intake levels.

Hey Zap,

Thanks for the advice.

I'm actually feeling really healthy (especially now that I'm tearin' shit up at the gym again) so I'm not worried about the 1AD putting on too much stress. My dose is relatively low, so it's probably cool. If I do start to have problems I'll definitely cut that first. I'm taking 15 grams of glutamine a day at various intervals so my immune system is probably pretty strong. Good lookin' out, though.

As for the CLA, can you show me some documentation about what you're saying? A lot of people seem to recommend it. Not to say you're wrong, I just want to see some documentation before I decide to cut it (or I want to hear from other vets around here).

Thanks,

Nukdae

i would not touch the 1 ad untill your body fat is lower and your training and dit are up to par i would also recommend a low carb diet which has helped me shed lots of fat check out the diet forum there are lots of helpfull and educated peeps over there also i owuld not look for a magic supplement which it seems you are most supps are all hype and wont give the results you seek and will discourage you stick to the basic for now train hard eat right and hit the cardio hard good luck bro peace

Hey Wellbilt,

Thanks for the advice. It's well-taken.

I'm definitely not looking for a magic pill that will replace diet and training. I'm hitting both super-hard.

I've modified my diet slightly so that I'm getting the bulk of my carbs in my post-workout meal and gradually tapering down carbs per meal throughout the day so last two are almost pure protein.

I've also adjusted my post weights cardio to interval training. I'm hitting the eliptical at a somewhat easy pace, but every 4 minutes getting off and doing jump rope intensely for a solid 1 minute.

I've heard that intervals are better, so I added that.

So far I haven't crashed from over-training.

I'm going to get a better body fat analysis than my peice-of-shit bio-electric-impedance bodyfat scale in the next few days. I'll do that once a week to keep tabs on my progress. Right now it's hard to say, but two weeks into it I feel stronger and seem to get into my pants easier.

I'm staying on the 1AD for now as at just day 2 it seems to be helping me (maybe placebo ... but I definitely feel more alert and stronger)

Any other feedback? I'm totally fired up to do whatever it takes.

glad to hear it was of some help you could do interval training on the eliptical trainer just go all out for 2 minutes then slow down for a couple also do not rely on those electrical impedance scales they are way off use the mirror its your best bet good luck on your quest for a better body

I believe is similar to it. You cylcle protein. It consist on four days. Day 1 is moderate intake of carbs (1.5 grm/lb) & Protein ( 1 grm/lb). Day 2 & 3 is low carb day(0.5 grm/lb) High proteing (1.5 gram/lb). Day four is High car day 2grm/lb, regular proteing 1 grm/lb.

Dietary fat is keep to 1/4 gram of your body weight.

For me it has work. A food log is a must. Avoid simple carbs in day 1 to 3. Train in day 2 and 4.
