TRT plus DHEA?

Apparently, in addition to low test levels, I also have the DHEA levels of an 80 year old man. Do the two correlate directly and will TRT raise DHEA levels by itself or do I also need to take a DHEA supplement? My test levels, while low, are not as low relatively speaking as my DHEA levels. My estradiol levels are smack in the middle of "normal" whatever that's worth.

Thanks to anyone who cares to respond.

TRT will suppress DHEA (and pregnenolone) further. It does in most men. This is a common way your body responds to the fact that it is not making Testosterone any more.

Most good TRT docs have their patients on DHEA and Pregnenolone. I'm on both. The addition of HCG also helps because it helps convert Cholesterol to Pregnenolone.

Your body converts cholesterol to Pregenolone. Then from Preg -> DHEA.

A lot of guys who go on TRT initially feel really good and then slowly start to feel not so good as months go by. A common reason is that the DHEA and Pregnenolone deficiences that are created by TRT take some time to bring symptoms to the surface.

On TRT, my DHEA had dropped from 299 (before TRT..range = 110 to 370) to 71 by week 4. I chose not to change anything because I was feeling good, but by week 12, the symptoms start to appear...namely adrenal fatigue.

Thank you sir. On a DHEA scale that calls normal 80-560ug/dl, I am 113 before TRT. Would an OTC supplement be sufficient to raise this level or do you think it would require something more aggressive?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. It is appreciated.

Oral DHEA is hit and miss. Some guys absorb it well...some don't.

The best way to tell is to take it. Many guys who are on Pregnenolone cream find that DHEA deficiency is remedied by Pregnenolone alone. It makes since DHEA is made from Preg and if Preg is low, DHEA is low. If you fix Preg, generally DHEA will fix itself. Blood tests are the easiest way to tell.

So what do you take to remedy this? Is there an injectable DHEA? If so, do you get it prescribed?
