I had fun in my backyard trying some oly lifts.

Don't worry about saving files to your computer, my brother owns the server.

Here's some overhead squats:

Super wobbly.

Power Clean and Front Squats:

Power Clean and Power Jerk

Overhead Walks

Didn't show the whole walk because I look like a retard.

Olympic lifting is new to me. My traps hurt now. I know the form is terrible but you gotta start somewhere.

read tehse - they will help, espeicaly with grip width and bar positioning etc

- heeled shoes will help with the overhead squats, ie oly shoes or even black leather shoes :)

anyway as far as elbow posiiton in all overhead posiiton ie overhead squats and lockout uf the snatch/jerk, you need to rotate the elbows back, pull the shoulder blades together, and pull the bar apart. This will lock the bar up on bone support.

You need to go wider on the front squat, angle feet out etc this will help you stay more upright or else your wrists are going to atke a beating. Yeah again heeled shoes help :)

The PC and Jerk clip didn't work for me 100%, I can only see the PC bit, anyway your using too much arm in the PC, upright roing a bit. Remeber arms loose like ropes, the hips power the bar up. Best way to get the right feel for it is to try some stiffed arm clean pull shrugs onto toes. Or power shrugs and Jump shrugs - just jump up, shrug, with arms locked.
The legs are stronger than the arms, I mean no one bends their arms when deadlifting, so the same applies here.
Also keep the bar within an inch of your body all the way up.

keep practising it takes quite a while to get the form down, but you need blocks to set the bar at the right height. I would start from the hang right now, to get the 2nd pull right. The first pull from the floor is basicly a strict deadlift.

also grass isn't the best surface for stability and grip :)

Thanks for taking the time to write all this down :). I will study those pages and practice a lot.

When you say wider on the front squat, do you mean wider foot spacing or wider grip?

Looks like you taken the first step in a new age of development.

Olympic lifting can help you add another dimension. I like how you are challenging yourself Mike!

I never did jerks like that. I perform a power jerk which is a different move. I would imagine that CCJ has a decent word for you though :)

I did like your overhead walks. I would only tell you to keep on keeping on man. Try to keep that bar tight and your back as solid as ppossible throughout.

Oly lifting is technique first, poundages second. Just like everything else.

Awesome shit man.
