tricep ideas

I have become bored with my tri workouts, i feel like im always doing the same stuff. I usually do tris with bis and the tris part looks like this
Skull crushers
Rope overhead
Pushdowns
Bench dips
I throw some supersets and dropsets in there whenever i feel like it but i just feel like ive run out of options here

Any ideas. Im not a big fan of CG's

IF you want big tris, close-grip bench is essential. Here is my typical tri routine:

1. close grip (usually sets of 10 as high as i can go)
2. weighted and seated dips
3. overhead extensions or skull crushers
4. rope pressdowns (use to do overhead extensions, but like these better), these are all light, 3 sets of 15.

Do you hit tris before bis?

No CGs huh?? Alrighty....

I'd try some weighted dips if you can. Best thing for tris next to CGs I've found.

Also, you might try doing skulls with a reverse grip. I started doing them years ago and I really like them. They take some getting used to, but it's a really nice change up for tris.

I still cannot for the life of me figure out the right form to the JM press.....I try, but I don't think I am doing the damn thing right. I can't wait to go to a WS seminar just so I can find out how to do that silly exercise.

Alright so CG is the consensus...ill give em a go for a couple weeks and see what heappens. As far as order of bis and tris its never the same. Some times tris first, some times bis. SOme times i alternate between the two. Thanx for the advice bros

Throw some weighted dips in there and see what happens....maybe do weighted dips as a main movement one week...CG bench the next

Dude!! Are you really goin to a WS seminar?!?! That would be too sweet!!! I'd love to go to one myself or just go and watch those guys KILL SOME SHIT for a day.

When I was on WS it took me awhile to figure out JM Press as well, This helped some: http://www.joeskopec.com/assist.html for vids on a JM Press

Thank you for the link......I have watched Dave Tate do them in the seminar videos, but it's really hard to tell from the angle that he uses. I have been using a modified form of that clip.......I come back a bit more when in the lowered position. It seems to stress the tris, but I can't do dick for weeight on them.

When I get back from the holidays I am going to try and make the one in Ohio so I can actually train at WS. I tell ya, I don't know what I would do without Elitefts.com.

Thank you very much for the vid.

REMEMBER, triceps make up 2/3s of your arm, so train them first. If you want then you can alternate bis.

In my opinion, Weighted Dips on a dip stand are probably the best exercise for triceps. All 3 heads are being hit while using your bodyweight(170-250lbs) plus extra resistance strapped to you(10-100lbs).

I've had good results in growth with heavy skulls, rope pushdowns, and bench dips.

Personally I don't do CG's very often, but I know alot of folks swear by them. The nicest set of tri's in my gym are on a guy who uses CG's as his core tri excersise.

Hope you find what works
