Tree huggers will eat BK

Hopefully they are selling the cage free items with at least a 3x mark up.

I love the idea of the biochemistry-impaired subsidizing the cost of my whopper. It seems fair to me.

Do you not buy into the fact that cage free chickens (and their eggs) have a different micronutrient profile (assuming they do go out and eat bugs) than caged ones who are fed whatever food byproduct is cheapest to supply?

How about that grass fed beef has a different micronutrient profile from corn-fed beef?

To me it isn't an issue of whether they have a different micronutrient profile, it's an issue of whether those variations matter from an outcomes perspective.

Part of what amuses me about the whole organic/all-natural/cage free marketing tactic is that it's a religion -- not a science. There are literally thousands of protocols out there for doing double-blinded multi-center trials demonstrating the differential value of a product, yet no one has actually done a successful study on organic/all-natural/cage-free food. With billions if not trillions to be made from demonstrating a safer/healthier food, why do all these greedy, evil companies instead choose to operate as low-margin commodities when they are one study away from a premium-priced product and incredible wealth? If they are all about greed and profit, they should be doing these studies left and right.

I know someone who believes in their heart of hearts that microwaves molecularly corrupts food -- she won't even microwave water in a glass dish. What's the science? She just feels better when the water is heated on the stove.

I get my free range eggs from a local farmer and pay about $0.30 more per dozen than the standard grocery eggs. But the yolks are darker yellow and they have much more flavor.

And I think they have demonstrated higher levels of omega-3 acids at least in free range beef. So that's indirect evidence that they should provide a health benefit.

As usual, you make a good point. There's always a lot of hype when it comes to food health but I think we have been narrowing in on the things that are really beneficial. Time will tell.

Does that mean that a synthetic egg beaters + a wal-mart omega three supplement beats them both?

:p

But its $7 more...

Sent from my VM670 using EliteFitness

Yeah, but if I can't get you to fall for it I'll have to pay more for my cheaper, non-organic version.

I like organic, all-natural, free-range products. It gives the companies I buy from a margin enhancement vehicle so I can buy their normal versions at a cheaper price.

i haven't used a microwave in 9 months. we don't own one. it kills nutrients in food.

I am not big on organic foods. Once, after finding the only two selections for herbs being organic and still growing in dirt, I asked a clerk where the herbs were with fertilizer and pesticides.

I Do find myself buying organic apples and chicken these days. Apples because I don't like the wax they put on them and chicken because I find the chicken these days to be too big making it tough and tasteless.

Corn fed beef taste better than grass so fuck that but I do wish they would stop pumping the cattle full of steroids.

You're probably basing your belief from this:

One study published in Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture that caused concern, involved microwaving vegetables. This study found microwave cooked vegetables lost more beneficial compounds than other cooking methods. In this study, broccoli lost as much as 97 percent of some antioxidants, which are cancer-fighting compounds, when it was zapped in the microwave. Boiling broccoli in water caused a 66 percent loss of antioxidants called flavonoids, while steaming broccoli only caused an 11percent loss.

But people failed to realize they added a ton of water to the microwaved vegetables. If you don't add water, microwaved vegetables can retain the same or even more nutrients.

How do you make popcorn and reheat leftovers?

He should buy a microwave from me that produces only all-natural radiation.

It looks a lot like a GE one, but I specially modified it to filter 100% of the non-natural rays. So it's healthier.

I'd sell him one for $1,200. If he'll just order it from Walmart and send me the difference in price, I'll call the store before they ship it and make sure the modifications are done.

we make pop corn with air poper

left overs on stove

i also don't like how microwave heats food. i hate those hot spots. i can usually tell now when we go out if food is microwaved

doesn't a microwave have radiation or something. i also know a micro will kill all good stuff in water. if you microwave water and give it to plant the plant will die

i also think it's a cool story to tell people i haven't used a micro in a long ass time

You are the perfect customer for my all-natural microwave.

If you order before noon today, I'll knock $200 off the price.

As a chemical engineer and someone who sells industrial water treatment chemicals for a living, that sentence blew my mind. So I had to research it on the internet.

From what I can gather, one gentleman posted the results of his 6th grade granddaughter's science fair experiment where she watered two identical plants (cuttings taken from the same mother plant) with stove boiled and cooled water for sample "A" and microwave boiled and cooled water for sample "B". Sample "B" died. Microwaved Water - See What It Does To Plants

However, the experiment has been repeated many times now and many of the experiments have shown there is no harmful effect on plants from microwaved water.

The 6th grade girl did heat her microwave water in a plastic cup which might ultimately be the culprit in her results. Or it may have been just random chance that the microwave watered sample happened to die.

A properly set-up double-blind experiment might be nice, but I think there's enough evidence right now to say the theory that microwaved water kills plants is bullshit.

it's still has radioactive shit n shit

That's why you should buy my all-natural microwave oven.

Here's my guarantee to you: put a 1 pint glass of water into my all-natural microwave and for 2 mins and then measure it with a Geiger counter. I'll guarantee the water will be radiation-free or you'll get 100% of your money back.

And here's something you haven't thought about. What about all the radio and cell phone radiation your food is bombarded with? If you order today, for only $400 more, I'll provide an attachment for your microwave that absorbs that radiation as well! And the best part is, it looks like an ordinary refrigerator magnet which makes it discrete and easy to install! I've even leverly disguised it to look like the sugar smacks frog -- isn't that cool?

So with my enhancements, you'll have food that's even safer than stove-cooked. Or are you going to keep eating food contaminated with radio and cell phone radiation???

Fuck microwaves too.

I use them for popcorn only. Only because I am a purest when it comes to cooking food. Most anything coming from a microwave taste like shit.

plunkey you got a finance option for this all-natty organic microwave? i'm poo' and i have many other needs but i cannot live without this product.

I could care less about the health effects, I just don't like the taste of food cooked in a microwave vs a stove, oven or grill.

I don't even warm leftovers in a microwave.

Popcorn - just too convenient. Chemicals and all.

Agreed.

It's just that on these issues that require a trained, experienced and properly credentialed health care practitioner, I like to go with Opera.
